i think the material originally had foam backing and it disintegrates over the years - sagging is also common when this happens.

That is exactly what has happened with mine. But only slightly in the middle. :-(

Mine looks like Mikes (88qv) with that pattern of "little squares". Except the color is sort of a black color with a hint of gray to it.

Mike, If you try to re-fit the original headlining, be careful, it will tear very easily and the foam power will come down. Best you leave it alone until you have the replacement in hand. Just my 2 cents.

Yep, that is what I figured. I wasn't planning on doing anything with it until I found out where I could get some replacement material. Roy has a guy up here in the Northwest that did a headliner on one of his Countach's, so I'll have him do mine when I get the material.

You can see in this one photo of mine, how my head hits the top of headliner as it sags and the oil transfer from my bald little head changes the color. ;-)

You can fix and wash it: mine had the same problems as yours, it was taken out, fixed and washed, and now is still OEM and clean.

    Peter & Albert,

So, is there a foam backing on the material that needs to be replaced? Or, does the material glue right to the roof of the car? Even in the area's of my headliner that are firmly attached (and not sagging), it feels as if there is no foam backing at all.

Mike...I am not sure on your car..BUT I know for a fact..at least 3 Low Body series cars I have had...NONE have had the foam backing...all were attahced directly to the roof material..

I had an interesting chat with Mr Bruno Paratelli yesterday, based on posts here and my desire to find new mats with Carozzeria Marazzi rubber inserts for my modest Jarama.

Contrary to what a Marazzi staff member told me during a visit a few years ago, all the 'tappezzeria' was done chez Marzzi and not at Sant'Agata. I will visit Marazii again soon and hopefully speak with Sig Mario or some other elder.

Mr Paratelli also mentioned that he:

    * Did all Countach seats and 'carpets', etc, and
    * has just completed a complete, new, all white interior on a green, Austrian Jarama and invited me to inspect.

Interesting ? Any ideas on the Marazzi mats, please ?

sorry to post this pic of Jarama GTS #10556 in this section, but it will be brand new !!!

Joe, any idea information regarding this car? Sold new in Sweden 1987, -86 or -87 year model, (apologize for the bad pictures, from car magazine from 1987). It cant be that many black/tan Countach cars in Sweden (if its still there).

I think its a 1987 model (see interior) re-registered DUR 690. But I cant confirm if it is still in Sweden, although I know someone who can.

There was a twin car in Denmark which happened to be 12951, but I think they are different cars.

just checked online and yes DUR 690 (12176) is still registered in Sweden, it also says that it only had 4068km as of 6/8 2012 so yes I think its the same car.

    thanks,
