Despite having a BAD case of the "while I'm in theres", something is FINALLY done on my car: Freshly powder coated trumpets. Some before and after shots. Ignore the black tape on the neck of the one finished horn. Just temporary while I scrape of a few mm's of red coating from the threads. Nice. You're doing so many little things with this car, I don't remember a general status on your car. Have you shown us the entire car? OK, I noticed a few pics on your profile. Are you going to get into some concours-ing with this or just like making it the way it started? I kinda like making things original unless it's something I want to not! P.S.- you're giving away the location of your secret lair by revealing that the bookcase is actually a door (showing the back side of the books).
Ok a few things come to mind.. First is they look great! Second is, how did you get the dent/bend out, using ball bearings or a smoothed rod? Third, have you considered if the extra weight/thickness/whatever of powdercoating over the anodizing/painting of the original will cause sound deadening? .. Please don't take this personally, I just notice some little things.. like the Mone Lisa. still could use *just* a little work... ;-) Lester
DEF not entering any Concourse competitions. When I am working on my rad/fans/coolant pipes/whateverelseIcanfindunderthehood, and I see the trumpets in that condition, I am going to yank up, clean em, and make them look puuuurdy. You still don't know what book to pull to get into the lair...
Thanks! A lot of patience and a lot of various "tools" sitting around. Mostly, smoothed out rod, varying in thickness. I had not considered this. I have a second set I will test against. and see if there any difference. I always appreciate some higher education.
