since the ALMS could use a good headline after the Scott Tucker incident the Viper is returning to ALMS! development work done by Riley Technologies. the GT class in ALMS is getting really crowded, in a good way....Porsche, Ferrari, BMW, Corvette, Lotus, Aston, now Viper. very http://www.alms.com/articles/snake-bit-srt-viper-returning-alms%E2%80%99-gt-class more photos here: http://www.alms.com/galleries/srt-viper-gts-coming-alms Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Corvette has much to fear. I am just wondering how much they are going to 'choke' the Viper to fit in in one of the FIA categories.
Corvette has little to fear unless Chrysler starts pumping sponsorship dollars into the coffers of the ALMS. GM is still the big dog on Dr. Panoz's block. I reckon the the Viper will be breathing through a restrictor the size of a McDonald's straw.
Hummm Maybe, but the Viper will certainly be entered in series not run under the dictatorship of Don Panoz. They probably intend to enter the LMS and WES series, probably the FIA GT1 as well (not Corvette there this year0.

Announced on Speed tonight: http://auto-racing.speedtv.com/article/alms-kendall-makes-racing-comeback-signs-with-srt-viper/ Kendall said his deal is for rest of this year and the next two years. Geaux TK! Here's the livery: http://rumors.automobilemag.com/srt-viper-gts-r-race-debut-set-for-mid-ohio-on-august-4-155941.html Image Unavailable, Please Login
TK recently (and I mean, in the past 6 weeks ) moved from CA to FL. must have been a lucrative deal to move to save the tax $$
Did he get any "seat time" to prep for the shoot-out? I'm curious who the other ~ 14 drivers are and whether any of them are washed-up, err retired D) like TK.
he's stopped by but not for that. I was wondering the same thing....lots of unemployed road racers out there, unfortunately.
I guess that's why I didn't get a call. I was sure my success in the NASCAR league would have led to a ride by now. Good thing I didn't quit my job... Image Unavailable, Please Login
I don't follow the drivers as much as I should in those series; I tend to focus on the teams and cars..."Ohh, Ferrari...me like...me cheer for them." I generally keep up with the drivers in F1, NASCAR, and most in IndyCar*. Actually, I'm now wondering if I can name 15 active/full-time Indy drivers... 1. Mr. Judd 2. Helio 3. Power 4. Dixon 5. Rahal the younger 6. Andretti the youngest 7. Simone 8. Bourdais 9. Kimball 10. Hunter-Raye 11. brain fart, rookie that crashed last corner @ Indy last year? ...I'm bored with this exercise already.
Bomarito is awesome, great guy. My claim to fame is putting a car within a few tenths of his best time at Laguna. I had four laps. He had all morning.
