Ham is essentially saying he will have it figured out by the end of the summer. His options are looking slim since Webber is staying at Red Bull and Mercedes appear to have a grasp on keeping Schumacher for a little while longer.

This leaves the elephant in the room. Surely Hamilton will not be paired up with Alonso again?? Hmmm.

An equally interesting question would be who would take Lewis' seat if he left Mclaren? Diresta? Hulk?

I agree. I can't imagine Lewis changing teams - though can imagine him being increasingly dissatisfied in public if he suffers any more rough pit stops.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

He's staying put, just a question of how big a pay cut. I think he wanted RB, but that door shut quickly. Looks like he's trying to get it done quickly with Ron now. Screwed $$ wise at this point surely.

Agreed. He has no where to go. Hamilton seems to be quite "needy" in terms of attention and ego boosting. I don't see anyone bowing down to him the way McLaren does. As such, I do not see him having a successful relationship with any other top team. For his own best interest, I think he should stay put and make the best of the situation. McLaren will return to top form.

Are any other teams even interested? I'm asking because I haven't read about any. If not, I would say it speaks volumes that a former world champion is available and apparently is not being seriously pursued.

I agree. Mclaren are.....well, Mclaren. However, if Schu leaves, I believe he should go to MB.

+1 He thought he had leverage. I honestly believe he thought Webber would leave.

He should stay at Mclaren. There aren't many other options except Ferrari and I don't think Alonso nor Ferrari would want that to happen again. The only other option would be if he went down the pecking order for a season like when Alonso when back to Renault then see if Webber is still at Red Bull at the end of next year. Although I can't see Hamilton doing that.

I suspect he will negotiate a shorter contract, or at least one with exit clauses such as if the team isn't meeting his competitive needs according to pre-determined figures which I am sure would take 10 pages to fully detail lol.

He's SOL...though I suspect Hamilton might be setting himself up to have more talks with Ferrari...too much ass kissing going on by Hamilton lately in the media.

From the whole helmet exchange thing, to complimenting Alonso as being the "most complete driver on the grid".

I personally would NOT like to see Hamilton in red, so much so, I would even prefer Massa staying on the scuderia.

"And although Felipe Massa's future at Ferrari is in doubt, Fernando Alonso is said to have vetoed Hamilton as his team-mate"

"Hamilton's options are limited. He has been talking to Red Bull, Mercedes and Ferrari, but only Mercedes appears to be a viable option if he was to leave McLaren."

Well what a surprise. No one could have forecast that outcome! He'd be daft to go anywhere other then McL. Mercedes are viable, but do not have the same potential to create a WDC winning car as McL do. Red Bull? Well, who can predict how long they will stay in the game before losing interest in F1. Risky. The only reason to go somewhere else is extra $$ - and at this stage in his career, that would be particularly naive.

I have to disagree. Attractive females of her or higher caliber are found regularly in small towns in south Carolina in Georgia for some reason. It's mind blowing.
