Thanks for the info Harold. Have yet to set a day with him to view the car..

I should actually slow down and start looking around more. Probably a bit too eager when I saw one that priced close to my comfortable range. What SFchallange and you said made me wake up from my dream land, the car price may be comfortable, but the maintenance may bite.

Better to wake up now than to be shocked later. Older car have higher maintenance cost. The suggestion to read up on the model's forum will give you a better idea of the "usual" problems the model may have. Cost of ownership is depreciation+maintenance. When i buy cars, depreciation is my main concern as i usually buy new cars. Good luck with your search.

meng, might be better in the long run to spend a little bit more up front than be saddled with an older car which could potentially bleed u dry ...

    happy hunting ...

If you want a car that is frugal in maintenance, get a well sorted 308. Lovely to look at but not much poke engine wise. The cheapest Ferrari to maintain.

I don't mind that to recoup my money! :D

But one can imagine what the Ferrari is doing in jam-packed Jakarta? Walking is sometimes faster :p

Hey, u didn't join us for Sunday's drive.

Edit* Oh looks like it died an early death,

+1 or if you can track down one of the F328. Mondials are good bang too but most will need full bodywork by now. These cars are basically depreciation proof but the money is lost in maintenance & roadtax, especially V12s :(

Yah but previously the 328 owner of 2 was asking for some ridiculous price. It is a rare car no doubt but the price was a 355 sorta price so guess what I ended up with. Besides, the performance over the 308 isn't much and is nothing compared to the 355 esp the sound effect. But I must say his condition was literally transporting one back to HSM's showroom back in 87'. So good that I would have felt guilty driving it let alone do MY drives.

    Thanks guys for the advice..

And coincidental or not, there's a Dino on sgcarmart for sale by autobahn.

    http://www.sgcarmart.com/used_cars/info.php?ID=278716&DL=2387

They too have a red 308 in their showroom as well.

So now it seems like either go for cars before 348 due to lower maintenance or after the 348 due to being more reliable and also ease of maintenance and also younger car..

Please correct me if I am wrong.

This is the reason why I joined this forum even though I do not own a f car yet. I get tons of advices given by you guys who experienced it hands on. :)

Sounds like councours, they were featured in a Channel 5 program before when the owner took the host out for a round. One of it was ex-Lung's who sold it to my friend & subsequently offered it to me @ S$130K+/- some 5-6yrs ago, damn....but of course it wasn't in this condition.

Bro, there's a price to pay for those & in Singapore, a rarefied vehicle can sometimes demand for the moon here :D

There was a 328GTS for sale in KL for just RM150K 1~2yrs back.

Hey, actually that Dino looks like a decent buy now. It was for sale for the longest time before & beginning to look like a good classic now. If you like classic, this is an attractive price IMHO with long COE.
