I think that is the only GT4 in SG now. Mechanically it is similar to a 308 so parts are easy and cheap. Car can be expected to be reliable if used regularly and maintained but start with a well sorted one OR price it such that you factor in a major service. Read that it is one of the better track cars of the 308 family and you get 2 small seats in the rear as a bonus. But if you were to see the 308GTB/GTS side by side, then the looks of the GT4 may just turn you off next to the sexy GTB/S.

And as for cars before or after the 348, they all will have their fair share of troubles from time to time. Costs wise, it is sometimes your luck although preventive maintenance will help. Break a timing belt on any of these and you'll be looking at a full top overhaul + replacement of valves/pistons. The newer cars have more electronic gizmos which will cost you $$$ to fix as compared to the mainly mechanical older cars. That's why the 308 is the cheapest to maintain cos it is simple and basic with a tough little engine.

So it is hard to say that a 348 will cost you more than a 360. I was just talking to a current 360 owner who mentioned that bills racked up by the 360's previous owner made his ex 355 look cheap over a similar 3-4 year period.
But if you really want to talk cost of keeping cars, then probably hats off to maintaining a V12 Lambo esp with its famed engine out just to replace clutch at $20k a pop or so I hear. And the e-gear eats clutches a lot more often than you'll do an engine out timing belt change on a 348/355.

Best to buy a car that will excite you for sometime, treat it well and get someone honest to look after it. Helps if you enrich your own knowledge of the car, use FChat which is great.

Bro, I wouldn't mind giving that host a spin as well and letting her enjoy my gear stick :D. Yes, his 328s were concours and meant more for garage decor. Red on creama, very beautiful.

Oh I love the GT4 .. it brings back such memories as it was the first Ferrari I ever went in. Same colour as well. If it weren't for other circumstances I'd be tempted myself.

Guess what, showed my wife both the 348 and the dino and she prefers the dino!! She finds the 348 too square-ish. Well, she likes classic cars so we may have a winner here:) next step will be to bring her to see it in flesh.

Anybody bought from autobahn before? Heard mixed reviews about them. If its not convenient to post, do pm me.. Thanks!!

To think that i was thinking of slowing down the search and suddenly these horses start appearing.. Is it a sign?? Hmm

    Cheers!!

Steven, I used my 458 as a DD and it's a fantastic car. I would recommend it if you are thinking about it. Car has fairly high clearance and getting over humps, in and out of car parks is no problem. It's a very different car compared to your 599. Ride is firmer and it's exhaust note is to die for. good luck.

Bro, nice is nice but the a/c is a real pain. I reckon the original compressor is just not up to the job esp in our climate on a cloudless afternoon. And you need to convert the piping to accept the new type of gas as the originals all use the old type which is illegal now.

Bro, there's one more red GT4 owned for a long time by a Caucasian in Pandan Valley & probably just sold it. It's in Exquisite Marques now but that car needs a full rebuild. the nice thing about this car is it's on carbs! So it has a very nice character & sound. No power steering, metric tyres, bullet style fuses & that dreaded aircon but it's a Bertone & quite pretty.

Meng, please test drive it first to get a better feel, the GT4 is 40yrs old technology, smells like one & handles like it too! Bring your wife along, it's a love, hate affair when it comes to classics. My ladies never appreciated them!

A well sorted F348 may not be that bad as most of us have had one as our first F car. It sounds good, looks the business & well it's an Italian :D

E gear Lambos should give you at least 20k miles if you don't burn it which many did especially in jams and packed spiral carparks, u need to put it in neutral & have a sensitive foot. I think Lp560 onwards are better. That's why I bought the manual Murcie, clocked 5 figures in it & clutch job is $14-18k, crazy cost when UK can do it for half or less!

I definitely did drive it quite a bit. Clocked about 18k on it.
Its a wonderful car. Speed humps no problem.. didn't need a lifter.
