Vettel 'honoured' by Ferrari interest ESPN Staff July 17, 2012 « Sebastian Vettel has reiterated that he is "honoured" to be spoken of as a future Ferrari driver, but insists he has no agreement to join the team. Reports have suggested that Vettel has a pre-contract signed that will see him move from Red Bull to Ferrari at the end of 2013, despite his Red Bull contract running until the end of the following season. Vettel told Bild that he was flattered by the interest from Ferrari's hierarchy but said he doesn't yet know what his future holds. "I am honoured (team principal) Stefano Domenicali and (president) Luca di Montezemolo see me as a Ferrari driver," Vettel said. "Clearly I'm flattered, but the truth is there has been no signal from me, I've not signed anything, nor agreed anything with a handshake. But if you asked the 24 drivers in Formula One if they would like to go to Ferrari in their career, all 24 would say 'yeah, clearly', and it is the same with me. "It is simply an awesome race team. But it (a move) has to fit on all sides. Who knows, maybe things change and suddenly I go somewhere else, or it may be I never go anywhere else in my career because there simply is no better package than Red Bull." Vettel also said that he would not allow himself to look too far ahead, saying the current season was too important to think about any potential move when his Red Bull contract runs out. "No, no and again no. Look at what is happening this season. It is very tight at the top, different drivers regularly win, so I'm doing enough to take care of this season. The here and now is crucial, it's already hard enough as it is and I want to defend my title, so I cannot and will not concern myself with what is perhaps in a few years. It is much, much, much too early. (Fernando) Alonso recently said he was rumoured to have first made contact with Ferrari in 2005, but it was not until 2010 that he moved. In between were five years."

Maybe he'll grow his set of B*lls one day , and rather than stick with a proven product, take the challenge to go on and build a team the way Michael and Fernando have. That's a true measure of talent.
