I think I want to do this to my 348. Does anyone know where to get a set? I found a photo of a car with them installed and it looks awesome to me. All black back there with a chrome insignia.. Having trouble loading the photo at the moment.

Without seeing the taillights I don't know how dark they are Eric, but in California a specific percentage of the original light still has to emanate for the brake/tail light to be legal. A lot of the guys with the rice rockets are finding that out the hard way. Check with a local cop before you buy just to make sure. Although as a retired cop, I always gave the guys with the Ferrari's a break. Now that I'm an owner, I hope they reciprocate.

I just can't find anyone selling them in the first place.

I think the black strakes will hide the fact that the lenses are tinted to the average person. My father was a Motor Officer for 23 years. He prided himself in writing as many tickets to the belligerent individual as he could. His record was 14 tickets and an arrest to a motorcycle rider in the early 90's.

Absolutely. Just goes to show that you never have anything to gain by being rude. Sure was a fun career though...

Why don't you just do it yourself with a vinyl tint or spray paint tint. They make both of these things specifically for this purpose.

Wow! Really? I never heard of such a thing. Spray tint? Is it reversible though? Vinyl tint would just peel off if I didn't want it anymore I guess... Cool idea! Anybody here done it?

Many many many people have done it. Search the web and I am sure there are a handful of how to videos on it. It has been a trend the past 5+ years.

Ok, Done! What do you guys think? This is a product called Lamin-x protective films. Cost under a hundred bucks to order and apply myself. I didn't do a professional job, but I think it looks good.

The stuff peels right off as well when you don't want it anymore.

I wonder if the heat of the engine will peel it off for you?

I once put a bumper sticker magnet (P&R content) on the back of mine, it peeled off on my first journey.

I typically don't like tinted tail lights but that looks pretty good.

Actually I have two multi Cades that have a total of 75 original arcade games in them. Also have an original Star Wars and original OutRun. That game if you remember from 1986 was a rip off of the Testarossa. They made it convertible but it is obvious. Kind of fun to have that with my 348.

That looks good! I read on the website that the lamin-x brand helps protect from rock chips too.

i spent on hours upon hours on MC. never was that good at it. But i remember playing MC in 1981 or '82. Id like to find one again and put it next to my cars, that would be fun. I prefer the old stuff of my youth but lost interest when Pac Man came out.

PM me.. I can tell you where to get an original. I am a major collector of vintage arcade games and I have dealt with arcade folks around the country. I had 11 games where the Fcar is now parked. Had to make room!

The car looks great Eric. Does it make a significant difference on how bright the taillights and brake lights are?

Well i don't want to waste your time.. the ones I've seen are about the same price as a Major service. If i could get one less than a grand, then maybe.

They are only 200 to 500 bucks. More than that? You are being taken. Missile Command is a common game. Not like Tron which is a grand to 1,500.00 it takes some patience sometimes to find good condition games. I do not have any games for sale but I can direct you to where to get me cheap.

Hmmmm. Now you have my attention. I always thought they were 3-5 grand. Which of course I thought was nuts. Ok. Pm on its way.

Did the tint today. I bought the 30percent so I believe it is legal. I will test and see if I can see it tonight from 500 feet.

Update: The Lamin-X works great and the heat of the engine DOES NOT make it peel. Great stuff!
