As much as I'd love to believe that, it will never happen.

I don't understand what you are saying.

As for Scuderias, I've been following them closely. There was a little price blip May/June and inventory dropped. Today I am seeing more cars for sale and prices softening once again.

*not trying to start a flame and I do get it that people love their CSs but....

"virtually" being the magic word.. I personally know of at least 2 CSs that change hands in that very range, one was pristine, 1 owner with under 4K miles... So I'm sure OP is not talking out of his ass...

plus the numbers that are being thrown around for Scuds are wholesale $150-160's.. What do you think the wholesale is on CSs?

I don,t think so, will see when the 458 scud start selling 480k and plus , the 430 scud won,t sound to bad at 250k and the US market being better,

Keep dreaming Danny. You're gonna ride that depreciation train just like the rest of us. :D Wait until the 2010 458'***** $200K or less, no amount of improvement in the US economy, stock market, etc will lift 430 Scud values to $250K.

AZ is exactly correct regarding CS prices. I have been looking to purchase another and have been following the market. Its not rocket science. To my knowledge the largest running thread on Fchat is the CS market thread. So you might want to review the facts.

Here's what I was talking about: went back to cars.com. looked at all 2008, 2009 F430s for sale. Found 101 cars with the following breakdown: 46 Scuderias, 27 spiders and 28 coupes for both years combined. Looking at 2009 only the breakdown was 30 Scuderias, 7 spiders and only 5 coupes (also 1 GT2 and 1 Challenge).

BTW the 5 coupes were all black.

When I was shopping for my coupe earlier this year I was greatly disappointed that I found mostly Scuds and spiders for sale in the 08, 09 model years. There were plenty in earlier years but I did not want to go back to 07 or earlier.

I believe there are less non-scud 430s in 08 and 09s because unlike manufactures such as Toyota or Ford, Ferrari doesn't have factories with multiple assemble lines. The reason Scuds are better buy if you want a 430 chassis used because you get all the upgraded and beefed up engineering at depreciated cost.

Prices on everything have firmed up this year, but I think we will see $150k Scuds retail by Christmas 2013.

They made alot of them and they don't have the CS cache.

Cool for me because I'd rather have a Scud anyway.

If you want a spider or a Scuderia there are plenty out there to choose from. I could have had one months earlier if I didn't hold out for a coupe. Personally don't like the looks of the spider, don't like driving top down most of the time and hate the Scuderia interior. YMMV. Buy what you like.

I guess there comes a point having bought a new 430 Spider in 2008 and then later a very low mileage 430 Scud (2008) in 2011, combined these 2 have cost me probaly 250,000 USD in depeciation despite not taking the first $100,000 hit on the SCUD, anyway simply whether I am married with 3 children or not, will I ever be buying a new or nearly new Ferrari in the next 20 years, the answer is unfortunately NO ! NEVER EVER AGAIN !

I,am thinking the same way , i think if you buy a second owner of a car with very low mile or klm will be the best way to go

That's exactly what I did: bought a single owner 2000 mi car. The admonitions to avoid low milage cars as they have not been "sorted out" and may harbor hidden defects is duly acknowledged. However I partially protected myself from this senario by getting a Power warrantee. My idea was to avoid the massive early depreciation while still having a car that looked nearly showroom new. Of course I paid more for a CPOd car from a Ferrari dealer. This was the best compromise I felt comfortable making.

Nobody, and I mean nobody knows the REAL number here. From all I've read, my guess is between 2500-3000. But only Ferrari themselves know. And they ain't sharing a thing with us!

On what planet does 120 to 135k = 148k? I guess thats fuzzy math. Autogallery, Ft Lauderdale Ferrari 149k. Anyway it does not really matter since the thread is about scuds. Who knows how many they actually made but has to be close to at least 3k. I have seen about 10 in my small city of 700,000. They are quite the deal at their current current price point.

CS's have been selling north of 135 lately (past 3-4 months, at least for sub 10k mile examples). Similar cars sold for 120-140 about 15 months ago (when I got mine) with a couple of ~20k miles examples selling for less than that.

Scuds too have firmed up a bit (10-20k) since the beginning of the year too.

Re CS's, ask Stokpro for some actual sale prices if you want, but posting 120-135 and giving an example of a $148k ask doesn't have much credibility and simply isn't factually correct for the vast majority of CS transaction of late.

Seriously? You are one of the people spreading BS in this thread by saying only 30 scuds left worldwide because someone looked at one small USA site called cars.com????

    This thread is a joke...
