Has anyone heard when the FF glass roof will be available? Spoke to a FNA rep a few months ago who said they were working on it but didn't have a definitive date yet.

That would be a nice option But I got a feeling they would
release that later to keep the interest levels fresh on the FF

I think it looks terrific. Wouldn't buy one without it. It made a huge difference in the 612's. I wonder if, like the 612, it will come with significant upgrades.

    Is it electrochromatic?

Was the one in the 612 electrochromatic?

How dark could you make it on really hot sunny days?

Does it make the car stupidly hot in the summer?

I know Mercedes offers the new 2013 SL with what they call the "Magic Sky Roof" but I've yet to actually see/drive one so I have no idea how well they work or how opaque you can make the roof.

I had an SL with the panoramic roof and it was ok but on really sunny days (when you'd likely put the roof down anyway) it was just OK and not fun on really, really hot sunny summer days when you'd keep the roof up. But when it was the worst was in the morning on a sunny day (even a cold sunny day) when the sun would shine right between the two-part shades and into your eyes from an angle. That was downright annoying - especially if you were caught in traffic traveling the same direction for a long time. My current SL has a normal steel roof and I'm enjoying it so much more.

Here in North Carolina it gets really friggin hot and sunny in the summer!

wow that FF look like a spare no expense example!

back to my OTO which came with the electro roof with 3 settings which i love, it never gets too hot even when its 100degrees F here most of the time. i almost always drive in the brightest setting so everybody can see more clearly how cool i am =)
