Hello, this is my first thread on Ferrari chat. I'm 17 years old and don't own one yet, but am an aspiring actor and hope to one day realize my dream of owning a masterpiece from Ferrari. So until then, I love to fiddle with the Ferrari configurator on their website during my free time, but had a few questions as to what some of the options were.

    What is a/the:

    -Dedication Plate?

    -Alutex trim?

Sorry if it sounds stupid but I was just curious as to what those were. Thanks :)

Dedication plate is a metal plate with a engraved message selected by the original owner. Some select this option to personalize the car.

From my understanding, Alutex is a synthetic material that can be selected to cover surfaces like carbon fiber. I describe it as shiny silver carbon fiber.

Check the thread a couple of places down from yours. There's a nice pic there that makes it look like it might be an interesting option.

Not owning one YET is only a matter of time.

Study hard, work hard, take maximum advantage of the advice of the people and events around you, do the right things, and you'll live your dream every time.

Oh, and good luck-- which never hurt either!

This is one of the many reasons I love this forum.....a 17 year old first time poster can ask legitimate questions and not be made fun of our ridiculed....but instead gets helpful advice and words of encouragement.

    Class acts! :)

I had the same dream from when I was 13 and was taken for a ride in a 330 GTC. That was it, the bug was in me and I simply had to own one. My love of the marque drove me to succeed and finally I managed to buy a new BB 512. I did not even own a home but I had the car I had dreamt of. Since then my love of Ferrari has been a constant carrot to drive me to achieve and bizarrely I do not think there is any other marque that could so inspire one. It has continued to be both a major driving force as well as a huge source of enjoyment.

Good luck and follow the Mayor and you will achieve it. Nothing better or more satisfying than standing in the factory taking delivery of your first Fcar achieved through your own efforts. Mine was parked up next to Villeneuves T3 and as the factory was on strike, we had to push it out the gates to avoid the strikers!

@Traveller My god it must have been the best feeling of your life when you got it! I always imagine how I'm going to feel when that day finally comes when I leave my house and the next destination I'm heading to the Atelier to order mine! I think bout it everyday and I won't stop until I own one!

Every achievement starts with a dream, but a dream will forever remain just a dream unless it is also followed by a plan and passion. Mine started with the 348. As a youngster in high school I was fascinated by that car and decided that I must work hard and own a brand new Ferrari one day. Time passed as I frustratingly watched the F355, 360, F430 go by. 22 years later, I am now sitting here waiting for my 458 Italia to get off the boat.

And yes, it's a red one (Rosso Corsa). Your day will come sooner than you think.

It's a great fk life (GFL).
