Just popped out to make sure everything went back together properly and to start bedding in the brakes - I wish I hadn't as the bloody olymipcs are happening at the end of my road and the traffic is dreadful. However, I did manage to get a shot of the car on the new rims. Enjoy....

You know Voicey many would recommend that you scrub in your new discs with old pads. There's higher potential for glazing up the new discs and pads when both are changed together.

Your old pads certainly look like toast, all crumbling and breaking up. The discs look fine though and it's not unusual to get a bit of material stuck on like that (or indeed to get a "clean" section where pad material has been pulled of the disc) all it takes is to hold the brakes on very hot static discs even for just a few seconds. Generally though the material will scrub off after a bit of hard use and re-coat evenly on the disc. I've often thought my discs have been warped only to find the smooth out later in the day.

Anything to report on the change of all the electrical components? Did your engine suddenly feel nicer, smoother, quicker to react to throttle input?

I'm being ultra careful to bed the pads and discs in - I have close access to a motorway that is very quiet in the evenings. I'm going to go out late tonight and bed them in by gently braking then cooling in turn for about 80 miles. On the way back I will cool the brakes right down before performing the hard braking to get them right up to temperature.

I thought about getting the discs skimmed and about trying to wear the material off but at the price I bought these discs for it was a no brainer - I will send you a PM.

No major improvement noticed with the new MAF's & coils but I've barely driven the car since fitting them!

Time for a brief update. No work has been carried out on the car but I have been using it a little when the sun shows it's face. I was honoured to be part of the Royal Marines event at Brands Hatch for the third year running - the day remains my favourite on the calender, made even better by the glorious weather. For thos who don't know about this event, it is a day where we take wounded soldiers out for hot laps round the track. There are two groups of Ferrari's - road going and race - that take it in turns to give rides.

The day gave me a chance to evaluate the new brakes and I can report they performed perfectly with no fade whatsoever. We were running 30 mins on track, 30 mins off all day and doing about 4 laps at a time before pulling in to change passengers.

I was also impressed with the Corsa tyres - once they warmed up they were lovely and grippy.

I was also invited to display at Wilton House for the first time (www.wiltonclassicandsupercars.co.uk/supercars). This was a great day and I will be going back again - the rain in the morning did little to dampen the atmosphere.

First photo is courtesy of Mark Collins, 4th and 5th photos courtesy of Wessex Car Club (others are watermarked).

All the words combined don't express the admiration for your work.

The best part is that you shared with all.

    Thank you.

I thought I'd post up some photos of the car in action during the world record attempt at Silverstone on the 15th Sept. I took my father and we both had a great day - the only downside was that there were so many Ferrari's there that it was hard to get to talk to everyone I wanted!

I also managed to spot the car in the video at the bottom of this newspaper article - middle lane, 4m55s:
