agreed, for the look they are impossible to beat....let's hope pirelli will re make them one day tks Joe, i do my best for keeping it as nice as possible, it was a very nice original car when i bought it i had all new bearings, heads redone oil pump rebuilt, distributors rebuilt, carbs tuned, new sparks and cables, clutch, battery...and much more but i still have few thing in mind...i am a bit a perfectionist the car sounds and runs great, and it is one of the few 4 liter cars i can actualy fit in....nice plus for me Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zLdvgEPIMvI[/ame] The car's current owner is local to me and I know he does exercise her on quite a regular basis and seeks to keep it in fine fettle, per our recent conversations. He is quite good about that considering the number of cars he has. It is with an enthusiast in a good home.
Without checking I'd say 20 or 30 cars, off the top of my head. I know of 6 Bianco Perlato QV DDs that went to the UK alone. I was at the Sant Agata factory in the summer of 1989 and I saw World Formula 1 Driving Champion Keke Rosberg's car there for service with EE plates still affixed. Image Unavailable, Please Login
As far as I can remember Keke's FLA12808 was quite a long time for sale in France and was standard white.
Raymond that car long-attributed to him and for sale in recent years has either been repainted or is a 2nd car. I saw this car at Sant Agata with my own eyes, and it was Bianco Perlato. Furthermore his "Pearl White" Countach is mentioned as such in a publication as seen by a British journalist.

If you ever come across one of these race Renault R5 Turbos please let me know...would love to have one. Brian
Indeed I will do so for either of you. Not my specialty, but I know where a couple nice ones are. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wgcwcFH5JSo[/ame] Brian, check out from 3:03 onwards of the 1981 Monaco F1 GP. You will see 2 Countachs cruise past the F1 cars after the first lap crash @ St Devote. Notice the leading Countach is your copper-colored LP400S (and the trailing Countach is the red LP400S). It is repeated circa 3:54 in the slow-mo and you get a better view of your car alone then. Pretty cool IMO.
Hi I was down at the Silverstone classic weekend with the QV yesterday. There were two other QV's, including the one to which electric power steering was fitted. I had a play with it on the stand. It is certainly very light for maneuvering. Valentino was there as well. I think he signed bits of every car! The man is a saint! So much patience and always polite and helpful. I went out on the parade lap of the circuit. Being the lambo club we got lost going to the marshaling point! As i was at the back, I did a quick turn and ended up in front. We were behind about 70 F40's who were out celebrating their 25th. They had pace and 'safety' cars ahead and behind. Before going out I was reliably told by at least one F40 driver that anyone holding back then driving fast would be escorted of the circuit! Amazingly I wasn't! I will try and upload the video of going flat out in first and second before having to brake! It was sad that they didn't let some of the F40's off the leash! After the event, i drove down to London for dinner with my sister and then on to a friends overnight. Joe, I saw Colin this morning before driving up. He has 2 muiras in just now. The big surprise was getting 17mpg ( imperial) on a 1450km trip! The UK speed limit is 70mph, and I was driving in or about that speed! Or at least that the police didn't need to stop me! These old cars like being used all the time. I wish I had a £ (or $) for every person who comes up to me and tells me mine is their poster car from childhood! There is an overwhelmingly positive reaction to the car and it's presence on the road! I just wish traffic cops could be the same! Might not get 17mpg though! Paul
Awesome Paul & thanks for sharing. You drive your car on long trips so I bet she flies. Yes, mpg sounds realistic for cruising. I haven't spoken to Colin in a year or so, great to hear he is still at it.
my last trip i averaged 15mpg... i was happy with that. cruised about the same speed but add a few dashes up to higher speeds.... much higher actually but only briefly.
I have a street 86' R5 Turbo II which is a blast to drive...but would love one with race history. Keep me posted of what you find Joe! Brian
My client has 2 (I think) and I dont know if he will part with either. I will pose the question politely. They are full-on Group B Rally cars (Killer Bees). I hope you know what you are getting into Apologies for the off-topic, folks. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
