Jeez, HUGE comeback year for Lewtus. 192pts in WCC so far versus 0 in 2011 and 0 in 2010.
Since the fall of the iron curtain this track has lost its main selling point. Yet still it is on the calendar, whereas others have gone away: Imola, Indianapolis, France, Fuji...
Holy ****e just saw that kimi is only 1 point behind hammy despite not winning a race all year-until Spa that is.....
*Exactly* what I thought when I saw him up there - Almost scary! +1 He's doing pretty well - Good stuff!..... "Cheers!"
remember hami was only told at last 2 laps clear to turn up to full power on the car, and earlier was not at full 60 KWatts KERS ...it was commented lotus was easier on tires than mclaren, so yes hami could have gone a faster pace i'm sure, but it would have used up tires, and so the smart race was just as he did, to stay only just fast enough to keep ahead, and save tires to make it last ...he earned the win today for sure!
it's impossible to pass on this track even with million watts of kers unless the guy in front run out of tyre
Bob and Steves prediction almost came true and I was also pulling for Kimi but as mentioned this track is more for parades than for racing. One thing is certain though and that is it is going to be a long and lonely month until Spa.
it's just a term of measure, a piston engine can be measured in kilowatts output also ...but it is interesting to learn one team has in advantage over another ....no doubt this slight advantage helped hamilton hang on to his lead during the race
I thought they said ''Kimi, go to 40kw KERS (to cool it down)''. I don't know about Hamiltons situation.
hm...could be, but after was comment about how lotus only had 40 vs the 60 of mclaren ...i'll have to check on that further hamilton ws given the clear to turn up to the full power map, on team radio just before the end ...that and grosjeans couple of mistakes let hamilton hang on, otherwise i thnk grosjean "might" have been able to catch him at the finish line
For a change it wasn't the tires that wrecked this race, it was the track. Kimi would easily have nailed Hamilton had there been one decent overtaking zone. Oh well... At least the championship is still tight, but Alonso is going to be mighty hard to reel in from here. His points lead is quite epic all things considered. Bring on Spa!
they say Spa is likely to be cool & wet maybe ....that should even things up somewhat! i think the second half of the season is going to be "really" close competition!
