I just had my FF in for a first oil change (after 4500 km) and got a few necessary 2013 factory updates made at the same time. After this my fuel consumption has decreased significantly! Has anyone else experienced this?

I used to get 375 km range displayed with a full tank and now get 475 km (although it is much more).

I used to have an average consumption of 22 l per 100 km, but now average 16 l. Tonight I drove 180 km on the high way at an average speed of 140 km/h and got an average consumption of 13,5 l per 100 km. That is actually quite impressive for such a powerful car! With 91 l fuel capacity this means that I can go 675 km on one tank at 140 km/h.

I seem to remember that someone on this forum complained about the range of the car. Perhaps there was something wrong with the cars during the first 6 months and this will be fixed with the factory updates. At least I have no complaints what so ever about the cars range after this suprising change!

That's encouraging info! My car is in for a factory requested oil change and a few tweaks as well. I'll be curious to see how/if I see any improvements in fuel consumption when I get it back. Will let you know what I find.

My best mileage so far was a stretch of road where I averaged a little under 70mph and got 19.9 mpg, with only two stops along the way. We covered a little over 350 miles on a tank, with some fuel left at fill up. (I'll spend a few minutes after posting to figure out how these numbers once converted compare to your metric numbers)

For comparison, that's not much different from what we were able to get in our 2008 OTO, but it had a bigger fuel tank so I felt less pressure to keep the car in cruise mode to conserve fuel.

And for the record: no we don't worry about the mileage, except when we have to transit a neighboring state where we are forced to let others put fuel inside (and all over most of the time) the car.

My 0.02 but I think It's ok to be cognizant of mileage in these cars! It's not always about the cost, it's about trying to do more with the limited resources we have in the world.

As much as I love driving my Cayenne Turbo S it is a hog when it comes to fuel about 11mpg overall and that bothers me from an ecological point of view.

So I applaud any effort by Ferrari to make exciting cars and try their best to keep the fuel usage down.

Efficiency is always good economically, but exactly what ecological harm do you think you are doing with your Cayenne Turbo S?

No doubt using way more fuel than is needed, given that i wouldnt mind the US being a bit more energy independent. My automotive holy grail is finding something that is fun to drive, can carry a few people and gets good mileage. My wife's Prius does not cut it!

I came very close to pulling the trigger on the ff. I love the car. Please help me ease my guilt on fuel usage. :)

I do not even know what mileage the 360 gets. Who cares. Where can you have so much fun for the time spent?

I have read on Fchat that a good cost estimate is a dollar a mile including depreciation and maintenance. How may miles do you drive a week? What else do you do that is as much fun for the money?

Then, what else would you spend your money on (assuming you have retirement and the kids college taken care of)?

    drive it and enjoy.

    Life is good.

I think it is fair to say that the increase in fuel consumption associated directly with YOU is completely and utterly insignificant. The amount of money you would save, should you choose to donate it instead to a local food shelter, would serve a far greater good than any possible impact you could have on the environment. So get the FF, donate a little bit to a good cause that you are passionate about, and enjoy her guilt-free.

I'm about to receive a 2012 FF with 258 miles as second owner (car has February 2012 build date). I purchased the FF from a Florida independent dealer and will bring it into my local Ferrari dealer (Ferrari of Washington) back in Virginia for any initial tweaks/service checks.

Having read about fires destroying several FF, I'm wondering if any of the service tasks are of urgent nature (eg, addressing underlying or suspected causes)? I've heard of PDU flash improving performance and there seems to be an ongoing oil monitoring campaign. I'm just trying to get a handle on what types of things that I should ensure get done by my local Ferrari dealer. Were any of folk with recent service on their FF being contacted as part of a service campaign to receive replacement parts to fix known issues? Just looking for info since I'll be holding the keys to an FF in a few days.

    Thanks in advance

    Dave

Apparently I didn't have PM activated in my profile until I paid my $15. I sent a PM with my email info if needed.

    Thanks
