Is that the former ebay car, from around ten years ago, that sold for 39K and was flipped a few years later, for 95K ? ...that car was also red and black.

You can also just barely make out those funky front side lights in the one set of photos.

    Good chance I'd say.

    Ignition box was probably added?

As I remember it was a decent car but needed some unoriginal items rectified. Including that two toned interior.

Well not 10 years but maybe five?

That's Jim Kaminsky and myself standing in back of the car in that fisheye shot of the engine compartment.

As far as I know 6051 is still in Ohio. There is no doubt that the car being advertised in Spain is 6051.

I recently ran across someone claiming to be selling 6243, that lifted photos from my eBay ad for the car.

That is my car, in Ohio, and it is not for sale . Those are photos I sent to a registry about a year ago but that site was never updated!? The engine shot is from the Poconos event prior to the dealer in N.Carolina purchasing it and then me.

    Definitely a scam listing.

I have tweaked the interior a bit to be more harmonious as a two tone. The ignition is as I received it. Not sure what you mean about the front running lights, they are the correct teardrops,it is an early car. I have sourced some correct turn lights for the front but not yet installed. Also some factory air boxes, those things are not light!

Damn it's a sweet car though!

Does anyone know if #6432 sold? This is the silver/red car from the movie "The man who haunted himself". It's right hand drive, was for sale 6 months back. Did it sell? How much?
Just curious. There are so few Isleros for sale.....

    Hi Olivier,

the car is #6051 - I asked the dealer for pics yesterday. It is also advertised at the dealers website

    http://www.dbclassics.es/cocheventa/lamborguini-islero-1968/

It looks quite ok but not "pristine" as the dealer described it in the email. Do you know the car?

There is another one in Germany you probably know:

6051 is my car, in Ohio. The Spanish fellow listing it is a new friend of mine. He flew here a few months back, came to pick up the 67 Jag and then bought 3 more cars! I'm just guessing, but I think he wanted to spend his Spanish currency before it was devalued perhaps. He mostly sells automotive parts but this collector car website is new for him. I know him as George (Jorge) and he's a standup nice guy.
I'm not actively marketing my Islero but if someone offers near what he's asking then I'd definitely consider it.
Just to clear the air, Doug R

There was a previous Spanish posting that I had no knowledge of, nothing to do with George, and was a total scam.

Coming back from Italy, I've spoken with several old people who all said that Ferruccio never registered personnaly an Islero on his name compared to some other models that he did...

It is reported by these guys that he used cars from the production line, after quality control & test done by collaudotore !

He even used one Islero to go to a friend's wedding...

So, I was wondering to understand how & why some people claim #6201 is Ferruccio's personnal car ?

Is it simply because of that document I saw one time... that doesn't prove nothing to me because the factory letter standard are not respected AND because Ferruccio was not able to write & speak english. So, someone has to do it for him... respecting the internal procedure like Ingrid Pussich confirmed.

Is this document (that seem to be a copy or a fax) a fake ?

Does someone can clarify, explain ?

I kow Joe you took part about its last transaction...

or is there somoene who knows more about the documentation of that car ???

Many evidences demonstrate the interior has been retrimmed... differently from one period to another... so why not imagine the original interior was retimmed a first time "tuned" upon period owner's choice mixing Ferrari style inside a Lamborghini ?

How many owners did this model had ?

Chasing some more informaions, it seems that Claudio Zampolli imported #6201 in USA back in 1970.

That fact explained why there is NO mention of the official importer in the factory files.

Then, it changed hands many times and the 1st owner recorded at the factory is Mr. Scott, then Tim Bushnell (1979), Kenneth Jones (1983), Jim Simpson (1984), Dr. Vincent Whitehead (1997), Paul vonHeeder (2002), and Erik Ludwick (2009).

Last owners change transaction was done for 250,000 $US.

Upon my opinion, that is a lot for a supposed Islero to have belonged to Ferruccio,.. but not recorded at factory as belonging to him... compared to others cars where it is mentionned !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and far too much if it is a fake... because with the absence of a real proof, like an official Italian title on Ferruccio's name, the only document I saw ( above in this thread) untill now doesn't proved it belonged to Ferruccio. This document affirmed it without conviction as I already explain why it looks like a fake and NOT like an original factory statement.

If someone on this board can clarify with some additionnal documents, I will be glad to change my understanding of that particular Islero history, but with the lack of any determining documentation, I will stick to my conclusion : it is fake.

    That single document

I agree with you, no doubts, this is #6000. One of the features that reveals the cars id is the position of the side blinker. #6000 is the only Islero I know with the blinker moved backwards.
