u also need a good leader and sweeper ...

plus, use pcs doctrine --- no radio, no drive ...

i hv seen too many experienced drivers in lambo and ferrari clubs who do NOT carry a radio ... they are accidents waiting to happen ...

i had one almost rear end me on the last drive ...

These traffic light racers are the most dangerous. There are many sensible guys that don't track, but all it takes is two twits (like in the Lambo drive) to be reckless and in turn raise our premiums, or worse still kill an innocent person.

Damn I a beginning to wonder about some of these exotic car owners. Tools.

Lambo club needs to take a leaf out of porsche club... With very strict convoy rules. Especially as it seems most Lambo drivers are fools. Radio is only part of the equation. The concept of self preservation and genuinely knowing your surroundings and your car go a long way too. These guys are people who only know how to weave recklessly through traffic and floor it in a straight line. Would like to see them vent their adrenaline at the track rather than on public roads. Bloody idiots.

This is seriously the key reason I have never joined the Lambo club drives. Any reckless behaviour should be met with immediate expulsion from the club.

How much of a factor is it that most probably own garage queens, or at best Orchard Rd show ponys (nee bulls), so aren't overly familiar with their cars especially at speed?

Agree with that dips. Just looking at YouTube videos of the drive (look up lamborghini genting 2012). Guys use 3 lanes. Overtake on all lanes. Weave through traffic. In my groups we stay on right and signal for clearing in right lane and only on very very exceptional basis will as a group go on the left of there is someone that absolutely does not move over.

They get their rocks off weaving around. In porsche club that would be instant expulsion. SMF would require castration.

Bud, sour grape that you couldn't go? :D Kidding!!

Absolutely agree with you. Even when I drive alone, I try not to overtake from left & these days, I'll even slow down to let them filter before I pass on. When the road is a little empty, I'll do some racing lines for fun ^^

Convoy driving needs discipline, no overtaking allowed so it's wise to group the drivers according to their experience & sometimes ego :D

I believe most Lp570s are also on their 2nd or 3rd owners by now & not sure how many were actually even tracked. The 1st gen SLs seem to be driven as they were made for.

In the recent events, we only recognise about 10% of the early owners who were mostly enthusiastic drivers & have no experience with the current crowd though.

Is the mkt so bad for used exotics? Maybe I should've waited for a bargain :(

I don't use my comm set :) stay alert & watch not just the ass in front of you but miles ahead & behind. I do agree it can sometimes be useful in B-roads though it's not compulsory.

C'mon drivers don't have comm-set decades ago  while on those open up convoys, the range doesn't cover either unless you have a yard long antenna sticking out.
