Any you guys recommend? Clear? I hate getting rock chips on the front of the car. Do you guys protect or pointless?

I found a great product. It is a roll on clear bra. The best part is it takes about 10 minutes to put on and it washes off at the carwash or can even be peeled off. It doesn't hurt the paint, it protects very well, it dries clear just like a 3m bra but is not permanent or very hard to remove. The only down sides are it does start to peel off by itself in the rain and one bottle will coat the front about 3-4 times before you gotta spend another $25. A friend of mine puts it on his z06 before track days and the front looks great everytime after he takes it off.

I have a clear bar on the F355 and it has worked great. I take the car out every Sunday with a bunch other exotics on the mountain roads and I can breath easier that I won't get any chips.

When I had my Z4 Coupe prior to getting the F355, I used the clear Kittrich Cont-Tact brand shelf liner to protect the finish for track days and long road trips. The Con-Tact brand product comes in 18inch x 24 feet rolls and can be had for around $5 from Walmart, Target, Home Depot, etc. It has a slightly less sticky adhesive than blue-tape and removes cleanly from the car. It also is non-glare and won't yellow or fade. The UPC is 0-90444-09998-2. I used to wrap the front before heading up to Vegas for track events. The stuff works very well... no chips and comes off easily after getting home.

I had www.speedfilm.net do the front end, fenders, mirrors, behind each wheel and entire hood on my new 991cs and it is virtually invisible and has kept it chip free for ~5,000 miles of DD as well as a 1200 mile interstate trip.

Got to do what works... The shelf paper trick works great. I found out about it on the Lotus forums. It protects the front on track days and doesn't look as tacky as blue tape and it is temporary.... plus price is cheap... what's tacky about that?
