I'll be down there late morning, not sure if I am bringing the dino though. Patrick, I'll stop by and say hi. As a new owner I'm down with Geno's idea to meet others if there is a convenient time. Looking forward to the show.

Sit the blonde in the car all day long and you are guaranteed a Platinum award.

I'm up for a meet-up. We should pick a time and a spot near the 3X8 display section.

Could it be a bit later, like 1:00? I may still be judging. I'd like to meet some Fchat guys in person!

Wow, wish I could be there,

If anyone has a camera near the Bertone area, see if there are any Fiat 850 spyders.
I am curious to see if they made the cut..... Mine is at the painter right now.

    Enjoy the weekend,
    Thanks
    Bob

Bob, I will snap some shots, there are 4 850's registered, 2 spyders. Not sure if any of them made the main display.

I've not been assigned a class yet. The way it goes is I show up and they put me where they need me (if they need me!). The word is that there is a low count being judged this year. Last year at CI I was on a three man team judging 275's! Last time I did 3x8's was at Huntington Beach in June.

I went last year, not too impressed with the field. There were better cars in the parking lot.

Wow, I have never been but have heard great things about this event. I would be impressed if 1/2 the 900+ italian cars showed up.

Rock, given your expertise, what are better events that I should be targeting?

No way. If a car is "better" it is at Quail based on its rarity/provenance not the Concorso parking lot.

If its "better" the owner certainly has enough money to where they'd pay the $125 to keep more eyes on their car and not have to walk forever from the lot to get down to the event. Sorry but there were not "better cars" in the parking lot.

I was told that if you enter your car its cheaper than paying for parking and admission?
    is this true?

if it is, that will explain the poor quality of the cars. Don't get me wrong there were some good cars but most were cruise night quality

There are always cool cars in the Concorso parking lot. Some people show up late for placement and the green is closed. Some people drive very cool non-italian cars to the show.

No, there will not be 900 concours-quality cars there. Some of them are not even restored at all. Yes, a lot of them are drivers. Yes, there will be a ton of Ferrari 3X8s there, maybe more than any other model in the show. It is a great show, lots to see, lots of cool people also.
