hi Meng, may i know where is Ex Marq ? and how's that Dino condition (interior and exterior) as compare to the SGcarmart Dino ? cheers
Exquisite Marques is located at loyang. The red Dino will probably need a paint job and interior re-upholstery done if u are fussy. I can't compare it with the yellow Dino as I did not go down to have a look at it in flesh.
Good afternoon! Do you guys know how to fix the sticky rubber parts in our cars without replacing them? One set of replacement buttons for seat adjustment is 1k!
Don't bother replacing as it would get sticky again. I got mine re-done but got to ask the workshop who and where did it as I cannot remember. Basically they will use solvent and dissolve all the coats. Then repaint to whatever you want. Best of all, it will last as compared to replacement.
Quite a few threads on this in this site. If you have a few hours to spare, get alcohol or the right chemical from DIY stores or pharmacies & some old rag to clean them. Oh, do it in a well ventilated area or get high with it! Last I saw Ben of EM doing it, Ah Long & other painting shops should know the fix as well.
Yep, those are the locals to go to. You can either go direct to the paintshop, provided he knows how to dismantle your parts. If not then the workshop route would be the other way but understandably you pay more for their added labour. So if you go workshop, might as well do the whole lot from centre console, door handles, buttons and perhaps even your steering covers and aircon vents. Literally anything plastic.
Beware old cars. Last thing you'd want to concern about are the paint & cabin. 1st thing to do is the chassis which means all the bushes, arms, steering rack & suspension. The red one has been sitting too long & age kills rubber/hydraulics. 2nd is the engine & trans including the clutch which also means the mountings on those 3rd is the electrical. Some old cars need to be rewired. Earthing problem or electrical loss due to old age 4th is the body work, rust, hinges, rubber & window seals etc. then the paint & cabin. Have fun! They are challenging but hugely rewarding after that.
Inspected this car on 11 Aug 2011. That's almost a year ago! Actually the body don't look too shabby, maybe a good wax will do since it's sheltered but I'll be concerned with the handling.
