Oh Geno, didn't you know......our Countachs are lowered at speed. The areodynamics pushes the car to the ground the faster you go ;)

Thanks Joe, I am a big fan of this thread. The shared information is priceless for a Countach enthusiast.

Here's a couple pics of a carburated QV that drives around Atlanta pretty regular. I know you must know about this car as well.

Was that red ATL DD the one that used to be white? anyone know.....maybe about 8years ago? The other car appears to be an 88.5 with anniv rims and little mirror extensions that don't look right imo, but at least he is out on the road!

    Good job deleting the bumper!

Yes agreed, the exhaust pipes were adjusted downwards to clear the bumper, that's no mystery. Now all you need to do is have them adjusted upwards so the sit snug up with less than 1" clearance from the rear exhaust valance, preferably. This will afford the angle of protrusion of the pipes to be as factory fitted.

A random pic to illustrate which I hope is helpful.

note that the 1984 5000S have the bull emblem in the rear body panel: that's correct.
This not happens on 1982 ones, i'm not sure for 1983 cars.

I like this car and looks to be a very good car too.

    ciao

Yes, you are right: you need another exhaust, hopefully an Ansa Sport. That Quicksilver is shaped for the USA bumper car.

    Very good car indeed, congrats.

Agreed. If you keep that thing, very simple to heat and bend but make sure it's done correctly.
Then, also, Albert sugggestion of an Ansa is a good idea if you.....................................

But I think I know which one you're keeping :)

BETTER IDEA......we can use a hack saw and just slice the tips back an inch or 2! Ten minutes tops.

I am doing the euro rear look this winter. I also have the quick silver. I was going to shorten the four pipes that connect to the header and then remodify the hangers. You cant take much off of the tips on a quick silver. They welded these spacer caps in there which would effect the appearance.

Yes the red DD used to be white. I believe the Atlanta owner sold it a couple years ago and it ended up for resale again out in California. As far as the FI car, yes it is an 88.5 with the anniversary rims. I have met the owner several times over the years, he added the side mirror extension to aid with overcoming blind spots. Vail drives the car often enough and his wife owns a silver Espada since it was new.

Here is a moving view of it.

Now that I think about it, of all the Countach I have owned that came with wings, that is the only one which I have not removed.

Judging by the dark colour of this car this might be 40066 marone/naturale delivered 04/78. Did anyone notice there is a second Silhouette at the other end of the line?

That used to be/might still be one of Jeffs cars... imported from France.
Looks like the pictures you took were from Celebration. If that's the case then you should have seen your old friend from Atlanta
