    Hello Ferrari Consumed friends..

I am trying to get a FMV or current value on my 1989 Mondial T Coupe.
    - Original Owner - bought new from Ferrari Walnut Creek - 100% Original, 14K, All services and records. Orig window sticker ...etc. Nero / Beige
    Condition - Collectors - 9.9 for age.

I have been looking everywhere, but there are none to compare or get a value from if i were to sell. Local dealers both stated they had no interest until i brought it in and they both said they would actually buy on the spot due to its condition. Last of the T coupes and i think mine is the only 1 of 2 in Nero Beige with factory sunroof. Also it was the only one delivered to Northern California which FSF told me. Ship date was Jan 1990 and purchase date is March 1990. Apparently only 1 per dealership was designated in the 89 coupe.

Does anyone have a link or know of how to get an FMV on it today or who would be the most knowledgible on these values. I am thinking of selling it, wanting to store it or completely undecided. Thanks for any help, I am new to the site.

    Great looking car btw!
Its hard to say with these cars what they are worth. Prices for these are based on emotions, some on economic situation, you have 1 of 43 T coupes that came to the US so its rare indeed which should be better than average. But as a ball park figure to start from, try: http://www.nadaguides.com/Classic-Cars/2012/Ferrari Your car in excellent condition may command alot more to the right buyer!

    All the best!

Mr. Panico, where were you about 4 years ago when I was looking to pay cash for a black/tan Mondial t Coupe such as yours'. Then, I was expecting to pay about $45K. Now, I'm not so sure...

Anyway, IMO, it's near impossible to put a price on these cars.

BTW, welcome to FerrariChat and I LOVE your car!!! :D

This can add $7500 or so to the value (or detract from it) as it is a costly service!

Thanks for the input, I really appreciate it. Totally torn on what to do. I really should put it away for a future decision or give it to my son when of age - (Not). Amazingly enough i find myselff taking better care of it at all levels than my cars worth X times as much. I wont let me kids near it, but they can play catch with a hardball next to my 599. I take delivery of my new ride finally today and there goes my extra garage space. FYI be careful if you ever use VIP Transport (Jerry). Total let down on all fronts. So saying finally taking delivery today may be pre mature..again.

Stay tuned for more on the 89 T. The full engine out and clutch were done at 8K and in late 07. So, does it need it again>? By Ferrari time, it does. Clutch was done shortly after that too. It is a Nor Cal car and always garaged in temp control, so as far as environment, its at least got perfect climate for not having a melt down or freezer burn.

more pics shortly. Best - MP

lol. I ordinarily don't care for the coupe as much as i do the cab, but that one sure is purrrdy. I just wanted to get the bidding on its worth rolling.

but of course, if 20k is all that it takes to purchase, lets go.

Dam...you all surely welcoming me to the club in re-assuring non exiting Mondial keeping manor. I saw the mondialpalooza probably mispelled that but I'm wanting in. Just went through hell getting my 599 finally landing today after 3 weeks of lies and delays by the VIP transport company. Do I actually ship my lonely T back for what seems an amazing event?? When is the west coast event? Tahoe anyone? 2014 maybe

There was a brief mention of maybe Colorado for 2014. I have an 87 3.2 Cab in Southern Oregon. This coming weekend I'll actually have it in Galt, then Clearlake before I drive up. We're around. :) I'm sure there are a lot of Mondials in CA, just don't see as many people here from the west coast. The vast majority are in the NE, thus the location.

I say ship it in, you won't regret it. I think we have sponsor here that is a shipper. The top notch ones are more expensive. Many shippers are just brokers farming out the bid and it's Russian roulette.

Beautiful car Michael I would value your car in the 35-40k range however with the last major being done in 07 most buyers would factor in that it is due for at least another belt service.

As a fellow t Coupe owner (2 owners including me, but I drove it on track at the 1990 FCA Annual Meet at Watkins Glen, when it had 1200 miles on it, and have done every bit of service on it since day one), I'd have to say $35K-$40K.

On a car like this, I wouldn't negotiate a price based on a major. That's figured into the FMV.

    Enjoy.

    Rob/ Peter,
Thanks... Yeah, i think thats the ball park too. I also agree that the belts service should be already factored in, purely because they have already been done once. They were done in 07 which is 18 years later from new. I dont think they are required again here 5 years later, although i do understand that under Ferrari time they would be due from last time in 07. I think on this somewhat vintage car the new owner would prefer to do the service for their own piece of mind with a shop that is local to them and could provide them with their opinion overall moving forward. I could get the job done locally here for a reasonable price, but then that leaves the new owner with no peice of mind themselves as to the under the hood evaluation unless that buyer was a mechanic.

Off the subject but im pist-
How about this for Screw%$d question? I just received my 07 599 GTB yesterday, bought from a dealer out of NJ. Shows up and the rear tires - P Zero 305/35/ZR20's are beyond shot, they are bald. Upon driving home from the dealer i had delivered to 3 miles away from home, the dash LCD Flares up Tyre Puncture in RED. 3 miles from delivery and i get a warning light and have to pull over. I notify the dealer i bought it from and he tells me he did not know and that is it, no responsibility. he had the car for 5 months and took it to several sales shows and auctions where someone had to tell him hey, the tires are bald. How would a guy in the business who took it in on trade not know the car he was selling a 599 GTB in perfect condition, not be aware that the rear tires are not just bald, but completely shot??? Am i crazy or is this an easy one. It should be - I am so sorry, go get them replaced and i will call in with a CC, or i will split it with you. His reply was you got a good deal, i lost money on this one. I am hoping he changes his tune as i would never put my business in a position to be earmarked as non reputable over a grand. Pic of my dash last night headed to pick up my daughter at camp and at first drive.

    - Would you say that the Sun Roof option is a more sought after option or was the sun roof a standard option and the no sunroof was an option delete upon order. based off my understanding, only 1 - 1989 T coupe was delivered to each dealership in NA, so im not sure how these cars came into the country, special order or direct allocation to each dealership? Not much out there on these 89 T Coupe's, which begs me to believe they are going to be interesting cars in the future.

I believe the US market loved the cabrios alot more so they stopped importing the coupes to America. The ones that made it were 43 and had sunroofs. Some of the euro models do not have sunroofs! 20+ year old sunroofs are as bad as the rear windows that stop working on these cars! Hard to find parts when they fail!
