That is total BS....first time I have EVER seen a mixed set of screwdrivers!

Actually the solid orange is new, it was cear amber, then black, and now THIS!!!

That black screwdriver handle is an older mold profile, yet it is silkscreened.
That's a odd duck you have there!!!

There is a guy on eBay selling used Ferrari tool kits (at crazy prices) and his ads state that mixed wrench brands/styles is normal.

First time I have seen the new orange-red screwdrivers though. For the price Ferrari charges you would think they would give you handles that matched!

    Jim

PS: The black screwdriver & print looks just like one in my 308 kit except for color. The one in my kit is a dark orange.

He's wrong on the older cars...all of my tools sets, wrenches match (although different brands between sets) and screwdrivers also match (all mine are the clear amber from 1976-77)..

    YMMV

That looks like my 308 kit except my screwdrivers have dark orange handles.

Appalling. Ferrari are taking you for a ride. Forgive me, but I really don't see the point of buying this stuff when you can replicate all but the manual window crank for a pittance with MUCH higher quality modern tools. And you'd have lots of $ left over for a really nice roll bag.

Keeping the car's looks is one thing. But the tools are there to fix things when out on the road.

I got a new OEM Ferrari re-issue that I promised to Big Tex if he still wants it. (If you changed your mind, just PM me, Alan.) All of the screwdrivers are translucent red (match) and the wrenches all match.

David...the eBay guy I referred to is Tony Randazzo. He usually has 1000-2000 Ferrari items on eBay at any time. I didn't mention his name because I criticized of his pricing.

Randazzo isn't a bad guy, and he has some very reasonable prices on some hard-to-find Ferrari stuff, but I completely agree: His asking price on tools is way past reasonable.

As for my kit, NLA. Big Tex just PM'd that he still wants it.

There was also a darker red between the amber and the black.

Judging by eBay, the early translucent amber screwdrivers are worth $150 - 250. Who the hell is buying them at these prices?

I'll have to organize my garage. At these prices, I've got a treasure trove to fund my retirement.

I am amazed at major sellers saying complete tool and jack kit and or pouch kit which are even to me incomplete or just plain wrong its one thing on ebay another on a 250K or 350K Ferrari!

Here is the correct one for the Dino 308 GT4. I also think if someone takes the kit out of a car and sells the car without it he should wear the scarlet letter.......

I would not buy a high end car without all 3 complete, as a sign of faith.....

I agree with both comments, I placed very reasonable bids for the not so complete kits, however was turned down.

I bought my 308 tool kit from Partsource 20 years ago.

Some time later, I showed the car. It was pointed out to me that the longitudinal
engine brace rod was loose. So I got a wrench form the tool kit to tighten it.

I then walked around tossing the wrench in my hand, and came over to a guy with a
new F50. He was looking at his beautiful leather tool case, and pulled out a wrench.
    It was identical to mine.

    Graham,

I am sure that someone, perhaps Big Tex, will give you the right answer for the tools...

As for books / wallet...some food for your thoughts (expensive, agreed...I have NO interests in this whatsoever, no relation with the seller, etc...)
The type you are looking for must correspond to one of these; check by bracketing with the c/n of your car.

    From Maranello Classic Parts...

    Good Morning
Thank you for your email; I am sorry for the delay in my reply. I wanted to go into our warehouse have look at the rest of our stock.
All our stock is the same as I supplied you. It appears that this is how the factory is now supplying this tool roll / kit.
I can confirm that all the tools inside are all genuine from Ferrari.
If there is anything else I can help with please don’t hesitate to contact me.
    Best Regards

    Wow.

On the one hand, it's great that Ferrari are once again supplying tool kits for 3x8's. On the other, they seem to be cobbling them together with whatever they have available. Weird. IMO, if they're going to replace the nice-looking amber or translucent red screwdrivers with those ugly solid orange ones, they should at least be consistent and supply four that all look alike.

Those $250 original orange-handled Ferrari screwdrivers on eBay are probably going to shoot up to $1000 pretty soon now.

Has anyone checked out the leather reproduction tool bags with Beta tools available from Superformance.co.uk? I know it's not "original," but Beta has supplied tools for the Ferrari race team, the bag is leather instead of vinyl, and the tools are better quality than anything Ferrari ever supplied in their factory tool kits. I understand wanting to be original - but if Ferrari themselves are now just tossing in any old dross and calling it a genuine tool kit, I'm thinking that maybe you might as well just buy tools that at least match.

    Thoughts?
