a couple of months ago, my wife stopped in holland village near paris silk to pick up our daughter ... she was stationary for perhaps 5 secs ... a lta turd saw her and she got a letter from lta for $120 + 3 points ... that road is a TINY, DEAD END road ... what a bunch of a**holes !!!!!!!!! oh, i DID appeal ... and got a letter "don't do it again or else" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Unless you know the transport minister, I think your guess is as good as anyone else's here. Just pick up a calendar and choose your favorite 1/3 wed between now and dec. At least you won't have to waste any brain bytes trying to figure this **** out
In Singapore u follow what the govt says or get nuked. She must've stopped along those zig-zag lines....might as well parked & have a coffee
Nah, just that I found new "love" but then I would also love to live in Europe ^^ cars are even cheaper there & those roads!
Hi King Decided on the Horse in the end .... . Yes , thinking about that also , was hoping maybe someone out here have got some info which may help me decide on the COE ...
Yes Tuck , actually was thinking about waiting until the 7th month but with the Singaporean Herd Mentality , was thinking that it will shoot up even higher if prices do go up for tomorrow bidding ...
SFChallenge, Thanks for your input, they are valuable info. btw also thanks for the pic, looks like it needs another 50-100k sgd to bring it to concourse standard. Btw, have you had a chance to see the yellow one ? do you know the history of that car? thanks again !
what irks me is that on any given day u can see cars parked just abt anywhere in the city with NO consequences ... EVERY f***ing day !!!
IMHO, coe bidding is now like buying property ... u will NEVER buy at the "right time" ... if u gotta get one, jump in ... no choice ...
hi uncle max! guess they expect us to be abit like india.. gotta jump on while the vehicle still moving!
In Singapore, locals like to give **** to main land Chinese. Many forget Singapore is made up of immigrants, Chinese+Indians+Europeans, etc. Feng, who just won a bronze in the Olympics is not appreciated by some because she is not "made in Spore". I am embarrass by the behavior of some Singaporeans.
many events of the recent past contradict the "singapore is a gracious country" statement ... unfortunately, all it takes are a few bad eggs to destroy what took decades to build ... perhaps the new generation of "keyboard warriors" shld try running their mouth face-to-face and find out what the consequences are ...
for some time ive been saying the older pre 360 ferraris should have a meetup and drive. to kick things off, i spoke to a couple of owners and we're looking at a meetup this weekend. anyone with a pre 360 ferrari interested in coming please pm me for more details. if u know of any others who might be keen please let me know.
How can Singapore be a gracious society when Singaporeans are basically a scared lose bunch. Both are conflicting attitudes. In most cases, b4 i can get out of the lift, some idiot charges in.
i used to be quiet abt something like this ... now i let the idiot (barging in to the lift) feel my shoulder as i plough thru ... i don't give a **** either ... & i'll be more than happy to bang his balls ... for free ...
The world has changed quite a bit & we're now branded as anti-foreigners but we're very fortunate in a way not to have to deal with refugees like some countries do. Problem I see is that most of the foreign PRs are not blending in together as well which might take a generation or two to localised while the locals must wake up to the world that we're like fungals, our livelihood depends on others. The multi-racial harmony that we grew up with is breaking up like shattered glass now & must be dealt with very sensitively from the ground up & not with a magnifying glass high above. If you guys compliant about parking in Singapore, wait till you visit KL & suburbs. People here double & triple park for convenience but causes massive jams. They don't like to park in proper lots & walk but usually it's the poor town planning with little parking. The culture here is such that old places with street parking enjoy brisk business while those new ones with basement parking has no business or entire project left empty simply because people are lazy to park below! Oh, one other issue is crime happens in basements.... I can take 5 mins to drive 10km to work only to be stucked in an area for 15mins with just 400m because of gridlocked jams caused by parking. In HongKong & Europe, most locals & even taxi drivers will only stop @ designated zones for pick-ups or drop offs.
