Usually when Ferrari drops a new model I like it or I grow to like it. I cannot wrap my head around the FF. I have tried. I just do not understand what the designers are coming up with? It is just hideous. In every case once I have seen a car modified usually it can sway me. Nope... still ugly to me.
I saw one at a car gathering one weekend and I noticed how very little people went to look at it.
No offense to anyone who owns one.
    This is strictly my opinion.

Owned a 612. Think the FF is ugly. But it has some passionate fans and owners, and no doubt is a fantastic car. Ferrari will sell boatloads of them, and they will continue their very successful practice of not consulting either of us about the design of future models.

Ferrari tried to do too much at once. They stuffed a V12 and a massive amount of power into their first attempt at a 4-wheel drive road car. Not only that but they sort of "invented" their own 4-wheel drive system. They also designed it like a shooting brake. It's all a bit strange. Personally, I'm not crazy about it, but they wouldn't have produced it if it wouldn't sell, and somehow, I guess they found a demographic for it. I'm very much looking forward to the next V12, though: the F12.

There are those who don't get the 400 yet their owners do

It's a business car. Go down to the FF section and hear happy owners talk about their experience with it.

It seems like a platform to produce an Urus-eater IMO.

Question for me is what is the point of explaining. Will you suddenly change your mind if I say the right words?

well then ...wand at the ready..."Levicorpus Lumos"

Personally I would get one if doing a lot of winter driving or skiing....what a hoot that would be to drive a Ferrari to the slopes!!!

In a word: Hideous. But looks are, of course, subjective. Except in this case... ;-)

I like the FF. If you want something more than the Porsche Panamera Turbo S, then this is the car.

You're not alone- I don't get it either. I especially don't get the Novitec Rosso modified FF (featured in the current Forza issue)- if I for some reason wanted an FF, I'd actually pay the same money or maybe even a bit more for a stock FF vs a Novitec modified FF as featured in the magazine. Much of the HP gain is from deleting the cats- and who really needs more HP than an FF has stock- and the other modifications don't do anything for me...I understand the different strokes for different folks thing so I'm sure some would love a Novitec FF and be willing to pay for it...

I'm sure the car drives and performs on an amazing level, but I've looked at the FF many times in person and simply don't like it. It's not the same as the 400i, 456 or 612, all 3 of which while not my preferred Ferrari layout (2+2), but are beautiful cars nonetheless to my eye.

Understood. But there must have been a way to accomplish this without the ugliness; the proportions are just ghastly, especially when viewed from the side.

    I agree.

I have no problem with the concept (even the AWD, with that much power) but the execution is less than stellar.

    That's subjective.

But still, tough to fit that much cargo into a 2-door sports car without it looking like it does... Would you rather they made an SUV or sedan to accomplish the same thing?

I do agree with you though... it's not my cup of tea. I liked the Ferrari/Maserati combo... Ferrari is focused on sport cars, and leave the more practical people/cargo market to Maserati.

I think a 458 Spider and a Quattroporte is the perfect combo for a balanced garage right now... but if you want want car to do both, the FF is for you.

Did people have the same perspective of the " breadvan " back when...?

It took a few weekends with the FF for me to understand. I had plenty of looks. Lots of questions and " hey, let me see "

Now, if they would only create a Scuderia version... J/K

    Heres what I dont get...

There are tons of already existing threads on the FF. Why start a new one simply to say you think its ugly ?

    Cry for attention ?

I personally really like the FF. Its not a beautiful car but, IMO, neither is the Enzo. However, like the Enzo, form follows function and it does what it is meant to do better than anything else you can buy.

    +2

The concept is novel and fresh and a good idea from a marketing/sales perspective.

However the styling should have a little more emphasis on emotion and little less on headroom. Specifically a more streamlined profile.

Drive one, you will get it! I drove one Monday, WOW do I get it! And I can haul a bunch of model airplanes in it too, some that will not fit in my CL550.

It really wasnt meant to be a bashing session. As I said I dont get it. It is the looks. Not its capabilities.
Not its storage capacity. But why do I need a 200 mph car to take my toddler for a ride?
It is just not a great design.
Imagine national lampoons vacation and instead of the 308 they replace the car with the FF. Does it make as much as an impact next to the family truckster?
By the way that is supposed to be funny.
If you own one then great. You get something I dont. And there is nothing wrong with that.

I just don't get people who don't get the FF. It is a masterfully crafted synergy of brute power, exceptional performance and honest practicality. Looks are, of course, subjective, but I think the car looks just fantastic.

IMO it looks like they tried to appeal to the wealthy guy who thinks he needs to compromise on a two seater. Something that the wife can drive and that they can also haul Jr around in and go on the odd trip if need be. Not too sexy and mid-life crisis-ey looking. Looks like something the F committee would design. The emperor that had no clothes would choose this one as long as he didn't care what the serfs thought. :)
