the car was aquaplaning, nothing the driver or technology could do. Even with the wheels locked, the layer of water between the tyre and road will sustain itself for quite a while.
In my GTR on a wet track the stability control would kick in as you were turning INTO the corner. It could be quite violent too. Gee I miss that car.
But if he'd been able to lock the wheels, at least the momentum would have kept him going more or less straight down the road, rather than driving him straight into the wall....perhaps.
looks to me like he was overtaking on the inside and steering left when he hit the standing water, so he was already pointed to the centre armco and simple physics did the rest. Moral of the story is slow down in heavy rain.
what the? speed limits being lowered again. http://smh.drive.com.au/motor-news/confusing-speed-limits-to-be-axed-20120814-245mg.html
my dad said to me over 20 years ago that the cops won't be happy until the speed limit is zero ... a slight exaggeration but you get the gist
http://www.abc.net.au/news/2012-08-15/chinese-cars-recalled-over-asbestos-concerns/4199630 Ateco is also the Ferrari importer for Australia / NZ M
For how much longer though.... Fiat/Alfa want nothing to do with Neville and i dont think it would be a stretch to see the Fiat group take back Ferrari if it does well with its new plan using existing Chrysler dealerships. And just last month Citroen/Peugeot also decided to go it alone and withdrawal their import arrangement too! Ferrari and Chinese companies excluded that leaves him left with only the rights to sell Lotus cars. Hardly an inspiring portfolio. Ateco had better hope Australians warm to Chinese cars, Its all they will have to offer soon..... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Wouldn't want to be a mechanic doing an exhaust gasket on those in a few years. Seriously why do we let these junk cars in the country? That crash test is a joke!
Who knows. I heard at one stage that it was a fixed term agreement, and that Ferrari would move in direct after it concluded ( as opposed to another distributor) I would imagine that Ferrari would be reasonably happy with Ateco though. Interesting
Well it does bring into question what other items are being imported from China with asbestos?? Lawn mowers, chainsaws, farm equipment........... And what about the poor workers in China assembling them. They are victims as well.
I'm annoyed. The fixed speed cameras on the hume hwy are being recommissioned next week. WTF....they were off???
