Happy Jacques had a full day of testing at QR in 2010 before the Gold Coast Indy round, and ran in the NASCAR road races a few weekends ago..

His pedigree is much lauded, yet the scoresheet doesnt suggest this is so.

This is my first post but I've been looking around for a while.
I pick up my 360 Spider next Friday first Ferrari and can't wait.
Now this may seem like a silly question seeing as though I haven't picked the car up yet, but is there a list a track days available, do you still need to be a member of a car club and have a CAMS license? or is there a drive day company similar to the Super bike ride days?
A few years ago I was doing quite a few track days with the HSV club and and had it all sorted, but after looking at the Ferrari club calender I didn't see any motorsport days.
I'm not looking at racing, just a leisurely day around Phillip island.

join the FCA and enter the upcoming National Rally at Wangaratta. You'll get a track day at Winton and a Motorkhana, plus drive days and concours. Entries close end of this month.

I know how good a driver Paul Stokell is (Fastest Lap, and I presume it was Paul and not Phil) so brilliantly done.

The cars may be equal but the drivers aren't.
As I've said before Pete has a weight advantage,also I reckon he's taken my advice and lopped off the other one....you would'nt want to be unbalanced..

 

he's a bloody great driver when you factor in his "handicap"

I've been trying to relearn driving all over again due to pinching the siatica nerve 2 months ago which has left me with a dead feeling in the right foot, got no feel of how hard I am pushing the brake or accelerator and nearly caused an accident until I "learnt" what the dead feel is like.

Thanks guys for the kind words...the weekend didn't start out so well, I couldn't find sufficient speed in practice, Q1 or Q2, Race 1 was very average, we made some setup changes after & then I had the throttle jam on warm up lap for R2, back to pitt lane & I didn't get to start, so a DNS.

The enduro race on sunday I was hoping for better things, had a reasonable start, we pitted early when I caught a slower car, that helped us get back out into clear air, then I just concentrated on trying to be fast & consistent, others pitted & I moved up well, kept moving up through field, then running third for quite a number of laps & the two close in front took each other out & I ran last couple laps to the chequered flag.

I'm just ecstatic with the result, much better than my expectations with the driver field.... thanks Wes yes it was Stokell's fastest time, so to only be less than half second off his fastest lap put further icing on the cake.

If we come up again Wes I'll let you know mate, it would have been good to see you, I rang Jon to talk about dinner on the thursday night & let him know of the weekend, but he couldn't make it, so next time

0.5 seconds off Stockell?? That's bloody awesome, really.

 

Thanks Pete yes it does give me even more confidence to run with the front of the pack, especially when you consider who he is, also a Queenslander & that was only my second time to QR, last time at the FNR in the Scud.

Really pushing at the limit is soooo much about confidence in your car, tyres, setup & hugely so, yourself... this result & comparison to the front runners will hopefully help me next time out.

I have realised now I'm in it, racing is so much about racecraft, not only speed & also about things going your way sometimes, a little luck.... & lots of confidence always needed.

 

Well said, but its also about talent, which you're not short of!
