You shouldn't read to far into what is visible there at the rear. These are not production body panels simply lacking paint. Engine cover fits the design I saw - the rest does not.

Odd, the plexiglas cover looks like it is masked around the edges making it look smaller.
And the vertical stripes on it look like tape.

Napolis, have you checked to ensure P4/5 is still in your garage, with its rear glass?

If not, I know where it is.... ;)

Not sure the car will look that good, the back seems to be too long.....

Beautiful designs can be conventional or controversial.

The Enzo represents the latter --a design which many found hard to embrace. Some found it so unlovable they removed the exterior and rebodied the entire car (making many other custom changes along the way)

What design direction will the F70 take? Interestingly it will be one of the first Ferrari in-house designs.

My prediction is that it will be easy on the eye-meaning less controversial and more conventional in terms of supercar design-- not too many sharp angles or corners, a familiar face with a wide front intake grill, more smooth design details and maybe a continuation of the popular motif of having a rear glass which showcases the engine.

Less controversial? Not according to LdM when he spoke of new Ferrari designs. He wants a bold new look that pushes the boundaries of past designs.
Even going back to the 458 the stylists showed him a design with scoops; being too similar to the 430 that the new Italia design was supposed to replace. LdM sent them back to the drawing board and specifically said get rid of the scoops on the sides of the car. More than just a styling change that decision also involved re-engineering the Italia.
The FF and the F12 have little in common with the models they replace.

Well the F12 certainly stands out in a crowd so the F70 should also reflect the new styling direction as well. It is a fine balance needed between meeting aero requirements and visual appearance all the while meeting government requirements as well. In the background of all that is the added weight that engineers must fight to try and reduce.

I'm a bit surprised about the lack of spy shots. Ferrari must be doing a very good job of keeping this baby under wraps.

Wouldn't that be because the factory is closed due to the summer break?

    No.

The summer break has notning to do the with the development or the production of Ferrari's roadcars. The factory shutdown you are referring to is only limited to the F1 program.

Trust me, there is no way the "F70-team" is taking a break from Ferrari's new halocar this close to its world premiere. They are working on the car as we speak.

I think a good % of the factory is on a break.

This is not true, there is no one there building their road cars during this time.

Trust me, when Italians get a chance to take a break, they take a break. World premier be damned.

I was not aware that they still practised a total summer shutdown of the factory. I thought that they abandoned that in late 90's.

Anyway, I can hardly wait for the unveiling of this car. I think it's going to be a stunner.

Did you get an Enzo, Fxx, or 599xx or all of them? I think that without those and continued ownership of all or most of the supercars, it's difficult. But Ferrari does what it wants so I don't think there are any hard and fast rules.

I suspect that if you have the money, are willing to wait long enough and aren't a known reseller one will be made available eventually.
