I am doing some refurb work at the front of my Euro QV and just found that the left driver side front blinker/parking light assembly is broken. I could probably repair mine if I had to, but it is pretty far gone so I would rather replace it.

Are there any good used light assemblies available out there for the right price? Has anyone bought the new one Superformance sells? New would be better if it's a quality part.

    http://www.superformance.co.uk/a-308/lights.htm

My other work (inspired by all of your projects here on FChat) includes repainting the spoiler/airdam, spraying SEM Bumper Coat on the bumpers, fixing a broken heater fan housing, and removing a piece of steel welded in between the front bumper mounts that looks like it was supposed to reinforce the front bumper for US Importation. All it really seems to do is to prevent the bumper from being pushed into the nose all the way leaving a weird gap. It's outtahere. More pictures as I go...

    Thanks!

Here's a shot of the steel welded in between the bumper mounts. It's welded onto the mounting brackets for the cibie driving lights. Anyone else with a Euro have anything like this? I'm looking forward to getting rid of the extra weight up there!

That hunk of steel is out. My car is now a full 10 lbs. lighter in the nose! I can't wait to finish and fit the bumper. It will be the first time the bumper has been tucked inside the nose of the car since the car entered the US on October 29, 1984...

The RH blower housing is now fixed. I glued the ears back on using JB Weld, then made a couple of brackets out of aluminum that are riveted to the housing. This should be strong enough to hold for a long time.

The ears on the LH blower broke sometime before the last previous owner owned the car. The PV told me he bought the car with the blower attached as shown in the picture. The blower was rotated in the mounting bracket with screws driven directly through the housing. Whoever did this repair also used a cable tie to secure the blower to the frame on the motor side. This repair has lasted for over 12 years but looked sloppy so I pulled the blower out so I could treat it to new ears too.

So far my ducts look dirty, but intact. I am hoping to be able to clean the tubes and reinstall. If they turn out to be too brittle I plan to use aircraft Scat tubing as a replacement.

The spoiler and grill pieces went to the paint shop today. I picked up a quart of PPG DBC Basecoat from English Color on Friday. The painter told me to have them mix it to the book and he'll take care of matching it.

PPG had only one listing for the FER 300/6 Rossa Corsa my car is painted. Their listing is FER 300 Rossa. I couldn't tell from the color of the paint in the can if it was a direct match or not.

Funny, I know exactly when that scrape located on the bottom of the spoiler just above and to the right of the tow-hook hole in the picture occurred. It was at the first drive we did with the FCA last year. The bump we hit made a terrible BANG! and we thought the car was damaged. From then on I lost the pack of Ferraris we were driving with and the group behind overtook us. We ended up being the next to last to show up at the restaurant. That scrape was the only damage to the car. Fun times...

With any luck I should have my painted parts back next weekend.

English Color is located in the Southern Plains, Mid South, and Southern Atlantic areas...

Since you have the turn signal assembly off the car, be sure to change the blinker fluid!

I have an NOS gallon of it direct from Enzo's personal stock. The trick is creating a vacuum around the Staffa della lampada, but I have been knows to suck all the air out of a room, so that shouldn't be an issue... ;)

    Thanks for the tip Jim!

    Blinker Fluid
    $18.95

KaleCoAuto blinker fluid provides you with thousands of hours of reliable blinking without the wear and tear on the flash-synchro's that the other blinker fluids cause. KaleCoAuto blinker fluid will not lose its viscosity even in the most extreme situations. Why buy that old dino-blinker fluid, when you can get our unique patented synthetic formula? Satisfaction guaranteed!! For use in any car.

I always thought changing the blinker fluid was part of a major or any other service - I always see it on the invoices from the shop I go to. Boy, that stuff's expensive! But that's expected with a Ferrari!

I've always used dino blinker fluid. To change now would require a complete flush and filter and I don't have the time.

Does Kirkland make any blink fluid?
Like their other stuff, it would be cheaper and work pretty well too.
Does blink fluid also work on fog lights?

I looked around all the usual places for a replacement front turn signal indicator assembly today. I found one on Ferrari Parts Exchange (now part of FerrParts) but that one turned out to be a lens only. So, I ended up calling Superformance. I , congratulated them on hosting a successful Olympics, provided my opinion on the opening ceremonies, discussed woman’s beach volleyball, and ordered a pair of new Front turn signal lamp assemblies.

    Front Lamp Assy Complete RHS 30819145 : 1 : $203.00 USD
    Front Lamp Assy Complete LHS 30819150 : 1 : $203.00 USD

My existing Carello lenses are in perfect condition. Not a scratch on them and they shine like new. I'll put those away in my growing Ferrari parts inventory, probably never needing them.

Do you know if their complete assemblies are reproductions? Or factory OEM old stock (from parted out cars)?

I don't know, but I'll give a full report with detailed pictures when I get them...

I asked if anyone had feedback on these in post #1 and all I got was this gallon of blinker fluid.

I received a set of front turn signals from Superformance and they look to be good quailty reproductions. The only problem I had was I ordered US spec turn signals and received Euro turn signals with a chrome colored housing.

I didn't bother to exchange. Used a hacksaw, file and some flat black paint to make them fit a US Spec bumper. Found I like the white running light with very bright LEDs installed.
