I believe the black example w white interior is mine, 1121240. Living happily in Dubai.

    I wish I could find a photo of my 1982 LP5000s CLA 12498.

The black car you have, is amongst the best unmolested early cars around.

This LP400s is painted in Rosso Speciale, the colour Max Bobnar had on his cars. The car has well known and often used body panels.
It was first registred in Switzerland on the 28.07.1981 and exported to Austria in 1984. on the 06.04.1984 it was declared road legal, since 1994 owned by Thomas L. Wien, Austria

The blue LP400s is located in the region of bonn serviced by Kremer, don't know the VIN, it was driven a long time with those Solothurn plates, also a car from Bobnar.

I think you may be correct (Lamborghini's records suggest an all white car sold in France). If so, that is the first photo I have ever seen of it in its original state. Many thanks! When I found it in the desert, it was faded red with a black interior and a fiberglass wing. We eventually found the white paint underneath.

I perhaps should have returned it to original white on white, but I am not a fan of any car painted white (and my LP400S has a white interior).

I chose Rosso Siviglia (sp?), but have not figured out the correct interior for it yet. Black in a red Countach would be a bit monochromatic given the amount of leather involved (and yet between my wife and I, we have three Ferraris - all red with black interiors).

As it is still disassembled, Tahiti blue is still an option, but the 6 months spent stripping the red off and redoing it may be a bit wasteful.

Amazing pictures from France. I knew there were a lot of cars in the 80s there. Saw many in the south but it was not as easy as now to carry a good quality camera thoses days

does anyone has picts of HLA12083 in the UK? it is supposed to have a green interior. Never saw one like that

That is a radio/cassette and i think has been with the car from new or nearly new as i believe its period so perhaps first owner spec ( auto-sonic) and before the Alpine tie-up, but it is the one part of the car i detest and although i do try to keep the car as original as possible and resist messing with things until i have no choice, with the exception of the mechanics i must stress, as i like the car to run and drive as its would have when new, I would remove the offending radio but dont like the idea of a blank hole and a modern would not work. But some other general comments as this is my first post the car is in excellent condition mechanically and starts on the button everytime even after long periods of storage once the carbs are primed ! but i do try to start it regulary even through the winter. There are a few very minor dents in the body work ( happened when it was shipped) but i am concerned about taking them out as it may damage or crack old paintwork which is stunning really and an advert for old flat paint against modern metallic and pearescent . As for the headlining i just dont want to mess with it as it is original and its the same with the rubber on the pedals both of which have been comemted on in this forum. I am afraid i always use that side of the brake pedal to brake as i drive with a sprayed legs postion so its me who wears out the edges! I like the car to show some age and some of its history and i know this is not always apprecitated across the pond where " fully restored to as new" ( what ever that means) seems to be the goal for some although i do notice that many on this forum are more appreciative of a cars history and its patina But the car is a wonderful beast and now i have managed to restore the fuel sender it is all in excellent working order and presentable with a few areas to remind all that it is over 30 years old. The seats are all fine but if there was one area that i thought could do with attention its the dash covering and it used to bug me but now i like it with the visable wear, again, the fully restored examples just dont look right to my eyes. and the wonderful orange with blue interior LP400 on auction at the moment is a good example of my feelings on this matter but again i stress, a wonderful car. I do one day hope that my dream of sitting outside an Italian trattoria eating anti-pasta and hear the scream of that v12 and in a cloud of dust a grimy and oilstained tatty lp400 stops for a double expresso oh to see a tatty lp400 on the road ( or a Miura) now that would be something and refreshing methinks. I was not blessed with good looks but that pic does even ugly me no justice!!!!

I think we spoke too soon. Its not your car. Subsequent photo posted by Miura1 reveals its a QV. Look at the rear panel.

thank you Joe and u are an amazing font of Countach knowledge if i may say so. For me Lp400 ownership has been somewhat lonely as although i have seen the factory museum car and one at goodwood , Simon's car, i have had to gather insight on the cars mainly on the net and this forum is somewhat new to me but i can say i am amazed and delighted with all the photos esp those grainy shots in period which the folk on this forum seem to unearth so well done to all who take the time and trouble to share these gems of lambo social history.
