I have searched and searched the interweb and cannot find any comps for a bare frame w/serial.

What would be the going rate for a good, strait, rust-free 1960-63 GTE frame with a good and clear serial number? The frame is bare with no drivetrain, suspension or steering.

    My uneducated guess is $12-18k.

    Any other valuation thoughts?

What is the serial number? It may be worth more to the one who owns other parts of the car. It will probably be hard to find a comp as most people who wanted to make a replica out of a GTE were able to buy the whole car, as they used to be cheap.

Post a photo. I know of one or two guys with GTE bodies that may want it.

Are you considering buying a carcass or trying to figure out what to do with one?

It depends on what you include. Are you including a body, interior, glass, guages, other systems, etc? Each of these parts has value. If the GTE was a good complete driver that was recently parted out and is only missing the drivetrain (engine, transmission, driveshaft, differential, rear axle), steering and suspension (steering box, linkage, all front end bits, steering wheel, steering shaft, wheels, suspension arms, springs, etc.) you may be in the ballpark. However, usually in a replica build there are a lot of other bits, such as trim, badges, brakes, gauges, lights, ash trays, fans, etc. that are taken. If this is the case, then the price drops significantly below your estimate.

Not too long ago there was a GTE that was a very nice car (2+ condition), which sold for north of $125k (higher end of the market at the time). The purchaser bought it to use the engine as as a spare for his SWB (only the engine - not the entire drivetrain as would be the case in a replica build). The rest of the car (complete and in excellent condition, including fresh Borranis and tires - just missing an engine, book and tools) sold for $35k - $45k (based on memory).

    I hope this helps.

Found someone with one for sale and trying to determine value.

It includes nothing. Just a bare frame with an intact serial number.

I may want it myself so that is why I am asking what the value may be. I found an ebay auction from a couple of years ago for a 330 America bare frame with no serial number that went for about $9000.

To me that sounds like a lot of money for a bare frame. I'd shop around. There was a PF Coupe carcass (including body) or less than that floating around.

Interesting. That 330 America was for sale in San Francisco two weeks ago. Travels fast for a car without an engine!

The serial number being on the frame IS THE KEY, especially if the # checks out.

This IS A VERY INTERESTING question.

Because the time frame, California Shows, going on, we might have to wait a bit before we here the most knowledgable chime in.
