It went into P&R (Silver Subscribed or better to view) because of political content.
The mods moved it. Politics discussions are not allowed anywhere but P&R according to the TOS.

So let me get this straight....if I want to get rid of a topic...I just mention "I think Obama is wonderful for this country" and then the topic disappears? Great news.

By the way, I think Obama is great for this country.

Got too political. It's a car forum, not Politico. :)

No - that generally will get your post deleted and you possibly banned.

It's against the TOS to post topics of a political nature outside of P&R. My advice
    would be to:

    a. Accept the TOS rules
    b. Subscribe to Silver so you can see and post in P&R
    c. Not a good idea to get "clever" as you did above - you could end up with a ban for that.

It's a fun place here - just play by the rules of the site.

    :)

The entire thread started as a political commentary on the Italian economy and their targeted examination of exotic owners to uncover tax evaders. It then evolved into a wider discussion on the issues of fair taxation in other political systems. The only appropriate place on the site for that is the P&R section in the subscribed forums - in this way, the automotive forums can be kept clear of potentially divisive and often heated political discourse and we can happily chat about our common love: the cars.

I should also say that if you just go around posting political commentary in non-relevant threads in deliberate attempts to derail them or banish them to another forum section, then you'll quickly find these comments selectively removed and yourself temporarily banned for making a nuisance of yourself. I advise you to resist the temptation.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

On a positive note, 2k7997tt - we're always looking for new views in the Politics and
Religion (P&R) section of Silver. You might end up having a good time there. There
are views from all sides, but we can always use a new voice. It's only $15 a year to
join at Silver, which gives you access. No, I have ZERO affiliation with the site other
than being a big fan of it. LOTS of great discussions in Silver, not just P&R.

    Give it some consideration....

    :)

Wow. The article I referenced was a Bloomberg article straight from their BUSINESS section....it's not like it was from The Politico or Huffington Post. The whole point of it was simply to raise the question about how long it might be before we see a similar tax raids and/or a luxury tax here in the US. In fact that would seem to me quite a relevant question for current Ferrari as well as soon-to-be Ferrari owners such as myself. Maybe turned a bit political but certainly didn't start out that way.

In any event I think it would be only common courtesy to at least somehow notify us in the event a thread we start just gets moved rather than have it up and disappear without explanation.

It's the posts that followed that took it totally P&R... not entirely your fault.

That's not how the site TOS is set up... it's just the way it is.

It was not the article. It was the responses to it. You are right it did not start out that way.

Besides, it wasn't about 458's anyway. If anything it belonged in the general section.

We do try to but sometimes we don't manage it. The problem there is that we're not full-time staff; we're volunteers, moderating is quite time-consuming, and the other demands on our time sometimes mean we can get forgetful. I've done it myself as well: I moved something during a coffee break, meant to tell the OP, but then had to get back to work and completely forgot about it.

    All the best,
    Andrew.
