I'm seriously scared as I am going to say that Joe Sackey has made a small error. The red RHD Countach FLA478Y is actually a 500S/5000S VIN 12474. 1120228 was registered MGU445W, NUR777 and then AGF59W. It was a 1976 LP400 returned to the factory in 1980 and upgraded to LP400S spec. Photo of 1120228 attached. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I agree 100% side markers should go and be replaced by a smaller square indicator on the front. (I managed to find a pair on ebay, which I will keep for future use).... Heres the scoop. In order to remove the US front and rear side markers my paint shop indicated each complete wheel fender/wing from end to door would need to be painted/blended.... up to the engine bay and on the front over to the trunk lid. This ends up sounding pretty quickly like a full body respray, which is a shame on an on otherwise original paint car. Interestingly the front and rear euro treatments (bumpers and stuff) can be carefully performed and painted without having to paint the whole car. (You need a good shop... with patience, and you need to blend at strategic body lines to avoid seeing the transition).

Hello, Just FYI, despite its UK plate at the time, Countach 5000 S reg. FLA478Y is a LHD car, not a RHD as frequently mentionned. (will post a pict. asap)
Here are 2 pictures of the mentionned Countach : genuine 5000S - LHD car. After more than 15 years cruising in France with its UK plate, the car has changed hands 4-5 years ago ; It is still in France but now with regular French plates. Last saturday; 18.8.2012 in Finland we saw this. After four years when I have last time seen this car it's finally back on the roads! There is no words to describe my feelings when I saw and heard this leaving from the Sportscar Breakfast Club meeting. There is absolutely no words.....! This is my friends clip, more to come...! [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUXG228qafY&hd=1[/ame] This is the same car; I think some of you in this Forum knows it allready. I took "enouhg" images of it, but will add those later on when I have time to edit them. http://samiaal.kuvat.fi/kuvat/1982+Lamborghini+Countach+LP5000S/
Really? Looked so different to me, like it's up higher than usual. I guess those end plates threw me off.
Sorry, no idea of location of car. LCUK would be the best place to start, as the owner was a member. Yes, everyone seems to have a near identical photo - this is mine from Silverstone Historic Festival in I think 1992. The Countachs in the UK seem to have evaporated and we only see the same very few cars even at the LCUK events.
Thanks to MIURA1 for posting the original photo and thanks to you for the front view. Excellent: I'm trying to track down every RHD Countach, which is a long and painful process and this car has been a mystery to me for a long time, as I could never find proof of its existence in RHD...this is the first front shot I have ever seen...and it is LHD. Thanks for this.
Robert, that's some task you've set yourself there! Do you have any idea how many RHD Countaches are in the UK?
The subject of several threads/debates: My personal best guess is: 67 UK supplied RHD Anniversary, 16 RHD QV 88.5, about 40 QVs, about 25 5000s/500S, 5 UK supplied LP400s and 6 UK Supplied LP400. BUT, so far I have found 17 LP400 in RHD, at least 9 LP400S, but there seem to be only about 15 QVs left in the UK and all sorts of other RHD cars keep popping up. Tracking them down is a nightmare. What does anyone else think? Is there anyone ex-Portman Lamborghini out there who has a list?
It is great that this site & particularly this thread comprises people knowledgeable enough to correct me! I welcome the correction as I should know better than to try & do this stuff from memory without checking my archives!
A deal has been worked @ $660,000, this told me by Gooding themselves. The Miura SV on the other hand sold for $1,375,000
Anyone know of an original car with less miles, besides Amari's black one in the UK? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Anyone have any thoughts on the Anni that is currently for sale on Ebay? The owner claims it is one of the last ten made and that each one of the last ten were built with a one off color. The owner also states that this car came with a euro front bumper direct from the factory. Not sure how they imported it w/o the hideous DOT mandated US bumpers. Not sure if the owner has the factory build sheet to prove the statements mentioned above nut it looks interesting. Anyone know the car or the owner? Joe, would love to know your thoughts.
If it was one of the last 10 made, you would think it would be an LLA car meaning a 1990. Although, I do know that Lambo may have sent cars out with earlier VIN numbers title for later years as a very common practice.
Antonio: I love the Nero Metallizzato livery! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Lamborghini-Countach-25th-Anniversary-Coupe-2-Door-Lamborghini-Countach-Anniversary-Edition-/261084156175?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item3cc9d4110f The seller will take $110,000 by the way, so if you are so inclined call him & work a deal and he will end the auction. No affiliation with the seller or with the sale, but I'm always here to help. Having spoken to the seller, I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and feel that its likely the claims he makes in the description are genuinely made on the strength of the 2nd owner's representations in good faith. It doesn't mean they are correct. It just means he took them at face value. Lets deal with the claims one-by-one: The car also came into the USA with Euro trim bumpers - Not so. All USA cars entered the USA with the Eu bumpers on. However, we all want Eu bumpers so I think most are just happy it has them. Only one car was produced in this color - Not so. I know of at least 4 or 5 others in Nero Metallizzato. Again, its still a rare color, so most will be happy regardless of the claim. One of the last 10 Countachs to be made - Not so. It is a 1989 car (actually built late 1988), and if anything it is one of the first 10 USA cars, or close to it. All ten came in their own one off custom color from the factory - Again, not so, whether Eu or USA production. Custom colors were totally random. I have a pic of the last batch of a dozen or so Annivesarios preceding the factory's last car, and there are quite a few reds & blacks amongst them. I think this may be a nice car for the price. Do your due-diligence & homework and I'd be delighted if you end up with something like this.
