I saw photo's of the new McLaren P12. Very nice and it will be VERY fast. One the Ferrari guys told be the new Enzo is smaller than a 458.

    We shall see...

It's great. McLaren is the real deal. IMO it will be a lot lighter than the new Enzo. It will debut at the Paris show.

you write that new enzo will be smaller that 458, smaller means shorter? 458 is much shorter than F60 Enzo, is that means that F70 will be much shorter than F60?

Hands down, the best render I've seen yet. Wish it will look like this.

Funny how so many are using bits of Jim's P4/5 in their F70 renderings... :)

Impressive, but I don't think that the hood vents jibe with those on the mule.
    Thanks for posting.

Just repeating what I was told. I can't see how with a v12 it could be but you never know...

Jim, are you going to Woking prior to the debut to see the Car? McLaren invited me, I am going to try and make it out their the week before Paris or after. The car looks spectacular and the work McLaren has done is crazy.

No gripes with anyone who likes a McLaren, but this is a Ferrari website, so please take your interests in whatever, wherever - but not here!!!

Given the X1, I'd be careful before shouting that a McLaren is the real thing.....

Press days are the 27th and 28th of September, then the show runs through the next two weeks following.

Missed a chance to say hello when you stopped in at McLaren but I did sing your praises to the lovely Meg who is just as sweet as you've described. :)

We are talking about th P12 becouse is the biggest rival the Enzo replacement will have.Even in McLren Life they are talkig about the F70 in their P12 thread. But you are a bit right. For talking about the P12 do it in the thread started by Jim: http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=378509

The X-1 was a one off for a client who's very happy with it with it so all's good. It's fit and finish is FAR beyond any Ferrari one off I've seen equal to the PF one off's.

The P12 which I've seen photo's of is as other's have said the main competition for the new Enzo and I find the fact that it will be lighter and I believe faster around a race track than the new Enzo interesting and relevant even if you don't.

The good news is that based on the photo's of the P12 I've seen and the camouflage photo's of the new Enzo I also believe that BOTH will have P 4/5 styling cues which I find interesting and a bit funny as well.

    Valid points for sure.

Is the P12 reminiscent of the McLaren F1 BTW?

IMO it's more PF than the F1. The rear especially which is as good as it gets. IMO it's a road going LMP1.

Very interesting. The McLaren is definitely going to be the main contender for the F70. IMO the 918 won't be in the same league.

I got a feeling that the KERS system will end up being a disadvantage for the F70 because of the added weight. What are your views on that?

Perhaps this will help. Weigh a V12. Weigh a V8. Report back.

Both will have KERS with similar capacity although one system will IMO have more interesting batteries. One will go for a full lap on the NS at full boost. Don't know if the other will. Not yet sure of the weight of both systems. If I had to guess I'd guess one car will be 375 lb. lighter overall than the other. The polar rotation of the one with the V8 will IMO be less than the one with the V12. The one with the V8 will pull 2 G's on road tires. The New Enzo will be very fast but on NS I believe the P12 will be faster. Both IMO will be faster on the NS than the 918 but once again we shall see. The new Enzo will sell like hot cakes and I think the P18 will be a good seller as well. If you want a 918 I believe that won't be an issue.

Will the P12 be raced in any professional series?
