From what I can see, it is an '85 or early '86 Quattrovalvole from the looking at the interior and seeing the older style climate control system. Also, appears to be a downdraft car since you can't see the Fuel Injection buldges (which should be visible at the rear of the engine lid).

I think I have posted this before, but not 100% sure, so sorry if its a duplication. Here you can see photo's of the 3 types of climate controls on the 5000 QV cars.

1985 - early 1986 (note DEF lever to the right of cigarette lighter and round tell-tale lights) used up to VIN GLA12997

early 1986 - mid 1988 (starting at VIN GLA12997), note the fan knob and temp control knob to the right of cigarette lighter and large square tell-tale lights), DEF now controlled by vacuum via a push botton on dash

1988 1/2 - Used the 25th anniversary and Diablo Digital Climate control system)

Forgot to add this photo too. Here is why I believe it is a downdraft car. As you can see on my car at Griots, the bulge is pretty obvious at the end of the engine deck lid.

In my opinion the rear US spec bumper/light cover is possibly misleading. I have seen pictures of Middle Eastern countachs fitted with the US light cover without them being an official US spec car.

In the Mercedes Benz tuning world which catered mostly to wealthy Middle Eastern customers back in the early 80's. It was very common for tuners like SGS, ABC, Gemballa, Chameleon etc to install US spec bumpers and lights on their customer's cars as per their request. They did it to be different.

    Thanks for the detailed info.
But if it was a NON US model Quattrovalvole shouldn't it have a single bulge/hump on the rear deck? It doesn't look like it does.

It could also just be badged as a quattrovalvole without being one I guess.

WOW..as much as I think you are an arrogant "all about me" person...I have always said and told numerous people that ask "whats the deal with you and Joe"...I have always said...we dont care for each other, but I still have respect for him and what he does...

But that "mutual respect" I have kept in focus towards another living human person such as yourself.......I think has now gone out the window...carry on Mr. Joe "SOS" Sackey..

I think that blue QV with rear bumper is the down drafted QV owned by dr. Petracca of Padova (Italy).
That car was completely rebuilt and restored from a big crash suffered with its former owner, a Saudi Sheikh.

That's Salvioli's Shop here in Italy, my former mechanic:Top Motors, Nonantola (MO) Italy.

You can see that car on Ruoteclassiche Italian magazine, may 2010, that tested two Countach models restored by Salvioli's shop (LP400 an Petracca's car), Lamborghini Club Italia President Andrea Nicoletto's white 5000S and the last Countach ever produced, the Silver 25th of Lamborghini Factory museum, driven by Valentino Balboni.

I do not like your tone, Roy. And nobody here can appreciate such a dispute between you an Joe.
My wife is a teacher at elementary school and often tells me that "just most stupid children cannot understand when it's the time to shut up and talk about everythingelse instead of keep on quarreling with others children"

I sometimes do not appreciate what Joe tells about Countach value and other issues, i know he works -like you- with these cars, but i think he is able to tell his ideas without shouting.

    Let's talk about Countach, please

    ciao

Indeed Alberto, sometimes when people have been in the maintenance & restoration business for a long time, the quality of their work starts to decline & suffers. I have seen this before in the Lamborghini community, so I understand exactly what you are saying.

Whoa Peter, slow down & review before you post.

You're making serious & possibly libelous claims on a public forum! Do you know if Gerard reads here? Do you know the facts of that incident?

As you noted they had to do with Eric Lux, and nothing to do with Gerard.

How do you think he might feel with your assertion that someone who is self-made and successful is someone who you regard as "no matter how much money and power you have, you're still a bunch of frickin idiotic children" ?? Its a very small Countach world.

I know you better, or else I might think this is purely envy for a guy who is young & self-made. His private life is none of your business, or any of us, and truth be told, I believe he conducts it quite well.

Please, less jumping to conclusions, assumptions, & erroneous claims in this thread.

    Thank You.

Those are just Seat Covers, the plaid is not the actual seat material. The 312 PB had a much tighter plaid material.

    Jeff:

As you & everyone else reading well knows, this thread operates nicely as a useful & informative resource for us all.

Until the boastful braggart starts up with his usual nonsense.

I feel like I conduct myself in a straightforward manner and am here to foster, promote, and champion the cause of these cars.

Along the way, if I need to administer a good old-fashioned verbal beat-down in order to see off undesirable behavior, erroneous claims, & restore order, then that's what I'm going to do.

On with our favorite cars! :)

In the early 80's I would say about 1983 there used to be a countach in the same colour scheme (I was very young so cannot confirm that it is actually the same shade of blue but very similar) that used to park near our house in South Kensington, London. It wore Saudi plates and used to be driven most of the time by an egyptian man who most probably worked for the Saudi owner (possibly a prince). I promised myself that one day I would own that same car.

According to the info so far: The interior and exterior colour, being owned by a Saudi prince etc.... everything matches up except for the QV badge. 1983 is too early for a QV Countach.

I cannot work out if it's badged as a QV in this 2010 picture too or not and if it has the QV bulge/hump.

I'm hoping that I'm one step closer to finding the same car all those years later.

Isn't that the QV that Simon Furlonger had for sale?
