    You are correct, it is in the best interest of Ferrari to monitor and correct issues they have with dealers. Heck, most fast food places are based upon a franchise environment, with the corporate entity policing the franchises to ensure brand name quality and reputation.

    Yes, the Chronopassion was the low point but we all have a bit of pretension in us. I, for example, store my Ferrari under a cover in the driveway. Every morning, my beagle, Elwood F. Kirkman (pretentious name), jumps on top of it and marches the entire length of the car, back and forth, sniffing. See what I mean? If that's not pretentious, nothing is.

    See, this is where you are completely wrong.

    Every car I bought I bought because I wanted it. No one told me to buy it.

    Every car I owned I truly enjoyed owning.

    Now, if it's my decision to buy (or not buy) and I never paid more than MSRP and I got a fair trade in value vs the market and I get good service, then why is this wrong? Why should I not keep coming back? Wouldn't you?

    I have 2.5 million miles on a major US airline. Do you think I get treated the same way that a person who never flew on that airline does? Ummm... no. I get treated better.

    Do I expect to get treated better? You bet.

    Do you think when I fly on a competitor airline, no one gives a hoot about me? Of course.

    Staying loyal has it's advantages -- to both parties.

    You see.... it's just business. I can never understand why people cannot figure this part out. Earth to 720EC: A car company is there to make a profit, not to kiss your behind just because you think you are worthy.

    Actually, he's a pretty low key guy.

    I guess you've got your own interpretation of that statement. The point is that typically no one takes notice of you in that joint, regardless of what you drive or what you're wearing.

    Buying one car in this store certainly doesn't get you on their radar. Buying multiple cars, however, gets you on a first name basis with the dealer principal.

    When then next generation of affluent buyers starts walking through the doors of these boorish stores (not just FoO), are they going audition for their right to buy a car or will they take their money to the Lambo or McLaren stores? Time will tell.

    I agree with what you're saying, but Ferrari has no motivation to step in and restructure - there's still a years-long waiting list for the new models. Why would SpA devote any capital toward fixing something that's technically not broken?

    Harley Davidson had to do this during the 80's and continues through this day. Without this level of interaction, they would have ceased to exist.

    Every dealer is different, but I chuckled at the Porsche commercial. There's a local dealer that's been around for years, and they've treated me like complete garbage the 2-3 times I've been there. One time I was there to test drive a Land Rover, for God's sake, and they blew me off while at least 5 people that came in after me were helped.

    Fine - I'll never buy a car from them, but talk about arrogance...

    Never had an issue with any ferrari dealer. Ferrari store in NYC always has friendly faces. FOH has always been good. Granted I dont go in expecting red carpet treatment so Im not hurt if people dont talk to me, I actually prefer it.

    Favorite dealer though would have to be FOH because of the "special" cars in the back garages.

    Steve Harris in SLC was awesome to on a customer service level.

    Yo Bob, although I have much respect to any Penske owned dealership... Stop bragging that you did not pay a "premium" in one way or another to get your 458 spider. We all did and I frankly find that hard to believe if you are receiving your car so soon.

    I'm not bragging. I'm correcting your claims with the truth. Why is that bragging? It's not my fault the truth hurts.

    I'll give you a hint:

    You don't have a problem with your dealer. You have a problem with jealousy.

    But, to get to the point, I did not pay a premium for anything, period. Hard to believe or not, I did it. And, I'll tell you something.. I am not alone.

    You said I sucked "whatever" to get a car. Well, if you think buying what the cars and owning them is that, I can see why you have a problem dealing with your dealer. If you think buying a car you want is like having to give them oral sex, then it's no wonder you aren't satisfied.

    It's business. I know this is shocking but the world does not exist merely to stroke your ego.

    And, the world does not exist to make your every whim come true.

    My suggestion for your long term happiness. Forget owning a Ferrari. You're more the Lexus kind a guy. The free coffee is great in their showroom and the salesmen have all been taught to do "that smile" -- or else they move back to selling Camry's.

    And, you can get any car you want off the lot and never have to worry about blowing anyone to do it.

    I never said UNDER. I've always paid list price for everything.

    Hey, if you want to fly to Vegas next week and watch me sign for it, you're welcome. Just do me a favor and drop a few coins the slot machines while you're here to help out our fair city. :)

    But, this discussion is not about me. It's about how some feel they are treated at dealership. I think if anything is clear here -- YMMV.

    The first rule in Las Vegas is, "Nobody messes with TheMayor."

    The second rule in Las Vegas is "A lot of holes in the desert, and a lot of problems are buried in those holes. But you gotta do it right. I mean, you gotta have the hole already dug before you show up with a package in the trunk. Otherwise, you're talking about a half-hour to forty-five minutes worth of digging.     Hi Bob,
    Ryalex and I had lunch yesterday at the Wynn while I had my 355 smogged and detailed.
    We ate at the Terrace Pointe Cafe. I let Ryan have the seat with the view since he is a married guy. LOL

    In the downstairs showroom the first car to your left was a Grigio Titanio 458 Italia Spider optioned out to the max. It was the first one Ryan and I have seen in person. The car looked AWESOME! I unsnapped the rope to take a closer look and the girl at the counter flipped out. I told her my car was in for service, and I have bought a car there before. She went off in a hurry to complain to Rich.

    Rich asked her if I looked like a Taliban and she said yes. He told her I was a friend of his and to leave me alone. She didn't come back to the showroom.

    When are you getting your new car?

    Although mr mayor can elaborate, when buying a new car from Ferrari that you speced out yourself, you will very rarely pay more than or less than the MSRP. That's just the way it works.

    Mr mayor is a very active member that many people know. He's bought multiple ferraris new and knows the process pretty well. He's a good source of info on this topic.

    Of course, results may very

    Ferrari Newport Beach used to be fun to visit. But now the showroom is roped off and you must log in on a computer before you can enter. Including phone number, email, etc.

    I walked out.
