Yes, the perfect summation of that American spirit! Where else can you have mobsters invest in a useless piece of land, turn it into a mecca of greed and opulence, make it a gathering point for drunk college girls in black mini skirts to vomit on the sidewalks in front of illegal aliens handing out handbills for escort services while people get married in their cars by an Elvis impersonator? Now, that's America! [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-pUaogoX5o[/ame]
Excellent. However, you may be excusing it by living there. Sometimes I think I do that with New Orleans. Anyway, look, we're being selfish. There are so many dullards behind us, waiting to post about Ferrari dealerships, whoa, the time the car got returned with its glovebox YAWNING open, etc. Onward, gentlemen! Now, do you really think Mrs. Joker would be married to the old fat guy? She has more class that that!
I'll be up in Vegas on vacation 1st week of September and would love to see your 458 Spider... and meet Steve Wynn
Okay, I'm going to bed. Let's open the floodgates for some really interesting posts. Just to jumpstart: -- My Ferrari dealer was picking his nose when I pretended to drop my Vacheron chronograph but not really because I had practised 100 times in front of a mirror catching it in the cuff of my Ermendiglio slacks. (I could have missed, frankly, the watch is a fake.)
I have to be in LA the 4th through the 7th on business. But, I'm sure the car will be at Wynn. You're welcome to stop by and see it. Just PM me and I'll arrange it.
I've been laughing my head off at themayor for a while now. One thing I've learned after being here for a year now is to not take everything too seriously and things will be a lot of fun I'M AMERICAN AND I'M PROUD!!!! cue the music... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Guys sorry to break it to you but their is FERRARI and then their is everything else....... This is just the reality and this is coming from someone who owns a McLaren amongst other modern day exotic cars, which I love. However Ferrari runs through my veins and my passion for it is unending. Very recently I had a private conversation with a certain person and the quote they gave was...."FERRARI we don't care about money, you could be a billionaire, have 5 billion, 10 billion, we dont give a ****.......FERRARI is not about the money, FERRARI is the passion and if we like you and you have the passion then you have FERRARI. If not......FERRARI dont give a ****! Classic! You either "get it" or you don't....
The best treatment ever that I've gotten from a car dealer is from Steve Harris Imports (Sean Harris) in Salt Lake City. That was 9.5 years ago when I bought my 328 and I've not forgotten!
Ferrari doesn't care about how much money you have; they care about how much of it you're going to give to them
I did notice earlier your Pebble Beach comment in another thread and I thought that you Jim turning Bruce's vision into a road car would be the "pied de nez" of the century. Hope springs eternal!
Clearly you missed the point of the article. You definitely missed the point. In describing the vehicle he pulled up in along with the watch he was wearing, he was merely addressing the stereotype that every single car salesman out there profiles you with the second you walk in the door. Rude as they may be, preliminary judgments are made based on appearance and self-presentation. I couldn't have said it any better. Bob's a low key guy and pretty modest. Calling himself "moderately successful" is a huge understatement. It's not a blog. As his close friend and colleague (I also write and manage media relations for DoubleClutch Canada), I'll go as far as to say that the impressions of this article are being misperceived on FChat. Bob's not knocking Ferrari; he's an active member of this community online, the local meet/cruise community, and of course, he proudly owns a 360. He's merely written a piece on the negativity that this particular dealership (Ferrari/Maserati of Ontario) expresses to its "loyal customers". Cheers.
Las Vegas is the entertainment capital of the universe. I'm truly happy to give all of you out there something to laugh at!! You mean, let me understand this cause, ya know maybe it's me, I'm a little f@@ked up maybe, but I'm funny how, I mean funny like I'm a clown, I amuse you? I make you laugh, I'm here to f@@kin' amuse you? What do you mean funny, funny how? How am I funny? [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLUl8xkKSTk[/ame]
It's still not clear to me what the article is about. He walks into a dealership, and feels like he is ignored, and walks out? When all he had to do is to ask reception to see someone in sales? Did he ask and was still ignored?
For the record based on the original post: Boardwalk Ferrari Dallas - not such a great experience. Just bought a gated 575 Superamerica from Miller Motorcars Ferrari in Greenwich CT. Excellent experience.
My wife and i were staying at Hazelton, walked around the corner to the dealership. Door was locked. Salesman sitting there talking to each other. They would not unlock the front door to the dealership - looked right at us and kept talking to each other. I commented later to FNA about this interesting approach to business. Got email from owner of dealer explaining that homeless people try to enter showroom. If I was by myself could maybe accept that my fashion not cutting edge. First time my wife confused for bag lady
Thank you Jerry!!! Rich Kansky and I have a lot of history. We can always make each other laugh. Cheers, Marc
Ferrari of Atlanta has made me feel welcome any time I've been there, and that was even before I bought a Ferrari (which wasn't from them; indeed, the only things I've bought at their dealership have been from the boutique!). And they treat other visitors that way as well. I've had similar experiences in Central Florida, Philadelphia and Seattle. Some dealers seem to ignore their visitors but usually will treat them cordially when questions are asked. The only dealership I've been in where the salesmen really only seemed interested in you if you were interested in actually buying a car was the new Ferrari of Palm Beach.
