Hello, I am upgrading the interior of my 360F1 with carbon fiber parts. I´ve already got the radio console, door panels and instrument cluster. The one piece carbon fiber center console just arrived and I have no idea as to how to install it. Could anyone let me know how can I remove the aluminum center console without doing damage to it? I don´t even know where the screws are located. Thanks and I will post pictures once finished. Ed

Since you are apparently doing a lot of work on your car, I would suggest spending time on the forums just poking around as any problem you have has been had before and the fix is there to be found if you dig a little. You may also consider getting the shop manuals which are on CDs and are cheap.

Search the 360/430 forum for "360 Shifter Bushing Repair" and the procedure is described there. Several threads down from the top in the list. Real easy to get the center console off and you may end up having to change the bushing which is called a "reverse" bushing if you have a manual shift car. They crack easily and shifting into 2nd/3rd will become difficult. It is a common problem and yes, I have had to change mine. Easy to do.

After you finish the mods you are adding you will know a hell of a lot about your car. If you have to pull hard on anything stop. You missed a bolt or fastener and are about to brake something.

Oops. You have an F1. Someone will chime in on on that. I had to remove the gate plate and that exposed bolts down in the console.

remove the 4 phillip head screws holding the reverse block in place. you will notice some bolts holding the center console in place. Then remove the ashtray and you will see a phillips screw here that need to be removed as well. In the back of the console you will need to lift the leather base and remove the 13mm bolt. also please note that the black blank under the parking brake is on hinges and will have to be folded in as you bring the console above the parking brake. Take note of the position on the four swithes under the aluminum cover and thier associated wiring connectors as they are all alike and can go back wrong which means the picture depicted will no activate the anticipated result.

The flasher / mirror adjustment is mounted from underneath and will be addressed when the console an be flipped over.

This is a good time to send parts you are not replacing out to have the stickyness removed or do the job yourself.

Post some pics of your handy work when finished.

Thanks Netman and Phil, I appreciate your help. It seems complicated, but I will give it a try. Hopefully the CF console will look much better. Thanks again!

Not complicated at all. You will need to swap the parking brake leather, the flasher/mirror controls, and the cover over the four switches, though I would recommend having this part in CF as well. If you want a CF hand brake, this is the time to do it as the entire hand brake must be removed to send off for conversion to CF.

Just label your connectors and take pictures as you dismantle with your phone or camera to refernce if necessary during the CF install.

All and all it was a 3 hour job.
