started my 2001 550 this morning - let it cycle until Engine Ok light came on and it fired up

went to move the car 10 minutes later - instead of Engine Ok - it came up Check Engine in yellow followed by Slow Down light in red

car would turn over but not fire

shut off battery switch for a few minutes. turned power back on, locked car, unlocked car and tried again

    same codes.

fortunately it's sitting in my detail bay at Parkplace so I am not sitting by the side of the road

wanted to ask you guys before I have it flat bedded to dealer

dead body is gone, it was just like Ferrari Driver told me - upper shock mounts needed to be modified

    thanks!

I thought that set I sent to Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale was for you, how are you liking the ride?

It was for me. I shared your post with them & they handled it. Thank you thank you thank you!

Rides great - now if it would just start.

Kevin, does your MFD show a gas pump with a diagonal through it? If so, that's the inertial switch, which if tripped, will shut the fuel supply off. The car will crank but not start.

The inertial switch is buried under and behind your battery cutoff switch, and it has a rubber reset button on top. Brian Crall once posted that these inertial switches apparently aren't well sealed and can become troublesome if they're exposed to water.

Has your engine bay just been detailed, perhaps?

so I turned the power off with the battery switch. Let it sit for several hours, turned battery switch on - locked car and unlocked it. Turned key and waited for the diagnostics, the Engine Ok light came on and the car fired up.

    well it's a Ferrari....

who said they knew what they were doing?

Kevin, take it in to FoFL and put it on the SD 2/3 The codes will still be there and it might help avoid this in the future.
