Congratulations Alberto! The car looks spectacular. Enjoy it and share pics of its many adventures in this thread!

PS - Thank you for installing that OEM shift knob. Finally, I can relax....

Wow! Congratulations. The car looks stunning. Thank you for putting the original stereo in the car. It is so disappointing to see these cars with modern aftermarket units.

    Peter,

You will have to narrow the scope of what it is you are looking for.

Are you looking for pics of 1121006?

    Blu Tahiti or Acapulco?

Or could it simply be a pic of any blue Countach?

The reason I say this is because circa 1978 - 1979, there are many blue Countachs that could have been photographed in Switzerland, both cars registered there, and some which were there on foreign plates as visitors.

Besides LP400 1120256 & 1120290 that could have been imaged here during that period, LP400 Speciale 1120202 was there during that era. So too was 1121002. And 1121078. And in late 1979 1121090 & 1121092.

Possibles according to my notes are also 1121068, 1121070, & 1121076.

    A little guidance please?

oh i dunno, that Becker Mexico in the orange lp400 that Valentino Balboni is driving on the previous page looks a perfect fit - and thats a "modern aftermarket unit" albeit a retro looking one

I think he is talking of the contemporary items which have a current look. They really spoil the finish of the interior IMHO.

For some reason this photo popped into my head... #1092, I believe.

... but I think that photo was taken in the mid-eighties.

Here is another photo of what I think is the same car...

Today we had the 1st annual Griot's Garage Italian car show. I was shocked to win the "Best Italian Car 1982 - 1992"

Here are a few shots I made with my Cell phone (sorry for the quality). It was also pretty cool to see Michael Schumacher's 1997 and 2000 F1 cars side by side.

Also a great photo from our resident professional photographer, Jason Tang of Me, trophy and the real star of the show.

Richard Griot has also signed a deal with Fox Sports Network for a new show called "Griots Garage Treasures" which will start running sometime in late October and run through the end of the year. The show is hosted by SPEED Channels ex-Two Guys Garage hosts Dave Bowman and Sam Memmollo. They did an interview with "yours truly" taking about Countach ownership. I'll let everyone know as soon as I find out when the episodes are going to air.

I am in the same situation, I have now collected all the bits that were missing, so have the full toolkit, manuals, and just last week the correct 7128 alpine cassette player. The great thing is there is a nifty gadget that attaches to your ipod where you just tune into a radio frequency so you can have the retro look but with all of your music available via the ipod. Just got to decide what colour the exterior is once the bodywork is done!

Agree that it is difficult now to find people who know how to work on older cars, most places now are lost if you cannot access via OBD port.

    Congratulations. Car looks great :).

The Islero is way undervalued and has low production #'s. If it had a dancing horse emblem, it would cost more money.
