So if Romain Grosjean had only taken out backmarkers his penalty would have been different? Rediculous, it should not matter what position in the WDC the drivers taken out were.

On the other hand they complain that there is a lack of on track action and yet when a driver tries to race they jump on them. LH has also suffered from this a few times. They are not allowed to be racing drivers.

Why isn't F1 run to the same driver etiquette rules as lesser race series?

That passage in the ruling is indeed strange, but I didn't see any lack of action on the track in Spa yesterday. Actually, I think we have rarely seen in a race so many amazing passes, executed with a maximum of control, aggressiveness and sportsmanship.

    Agree...

    ...and disagree.

Grosjean has crashed a lot this season. They didn´t punish him when he caused the crash at the Monaco start. But enough is enough.

But they should never have said it had anything to do with who he took out. I don't have a problem with telling Grosjean off though.

My lack of action comment was based on previous years but the Pirelli tyre has changed this, but they do I think make too bigger deal out of mistakes when a pass doesn't come off. That simply happens in motorsport and F1 is all the better for it. Heck back in the 70's they often didn't make it through the first corner :D.

Yep, but there are some usual suspects (Maldonado, Grosjean, even Hamilton) that are involved in too many crashes.

Although I agree that the stewards criteria is very inconsistent. Mark Webber had done very nasty things in the past without even getting a slap in the wrist but others get a drive thru just for a failed overtaking attempt.

Can be inferred though, otherwise why mention that he took out the leaders?

because it was somewhat remarkable? One can, however, not conclude that this aspect of the matter was of any influence on the penalty itself.

F1 lost the plot, well at least it's not on it's own then.

    BTW it's a spoiler thread.

He didn't deserve a ban. Maldo deserves a ban.

I think they went hard on Gro because it was almost a fatal accident with Alonso but you have to wonder if Lewis could of avoided the contact...

Anyway I think F1 started to lose the plot in the late 90's around the same time Max Mosley became President for the 2nd term. He was cunning enough to make changes slowly but the ripping effects can still be felt today.

I know it reads that way, but I don't think that's what they really meant..... As has been said in the race thread, he's been in first lap shunts in 7 out of 12 races this year - As Krafty noted, "enough is enough".

    Cheers,
    Ian

I thought it was 8  How many of the 7-8 are 100% his fault tho? some of them has been 50/50 situations.

Maldo on the other hand its been 100% his fault every time. How he didn't get a ban for taking out Lewis while off the track is beyond me.

I didn't say pre 90's. Are you suggesting there is nothing wrong with F1? Pick anything you don't like about F1 and Max Mosley is the reason.
