Yes, the screen is still on fire with Spa news and carnage, but the Temple of Speed is this weekend and predictions are in order. We have to sort of throw everything we know out the window with this place. DF matters not here, and the Merc super DRS should actually be worth someone. And if Lotus have their 'device' as they like to call it up and going things should be interesting. Red Bull are going to have big difficulties here. Well, for how long? You could be more right than you think; judging by what Boullier is quoted to have said by the french sport newspaper " l'Equipe ", he is rather fed-up with Grosjean problems at the start: «Seuil de tolérance dépassé» Eric Bouiller (directeur de Lotus F1), à propos de l'erreur de Grosjean : «Je vais très vite m'asseoir avec lui pour en discuter. "Tolerance Threshold exceeded" Eric Boullier (C.E.O of Lotus F1), on the subject of Grosjean's mistake: "I shall very soon sit down with him to have a talk about this. Because now, the tolerance threshold is exceeded. I want him to explain why, in this intense period of stress that a start in F1 is, he behaves like this, why he is not able to better keep his emotions in check. We must find a solution together. His problem are plainly the first meters"
Banned for only one race. 3 races and suspension of his FIA license if in another incident this year, IMO would've been justified.
For the same reason Vettel won in a Toro Rosso (well, rain helped a bit too). It's Monza and cars act differently here. Mclaren will perform very well here. If there is one track the Mercedes super drs will work at, it's Monza. Merc's rear tire deg issues shouldn't be as much of an issue here too.
It's difficult cause, Ferrari, Mclaren and Merc all have very quick cars in a straight line and assuming Lotus will be using their double DRS so will they. But Red Bull won at Monza last year and they've always had a slow car in a straight line. Plus the RB started to look good again in Spa. So we'll see I suppose.
Not according to McHam! They've said they won't be using it. [ http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/102216 ] This is why we run the races....... Cheers, Ian
Mercedes is supposed to be strong seemingly at every track according to these threads and it doesn't ever seem to happen. It's Italy, so I'm hoping a red car will take first. Race: Alonso Button Raikkonen Vettel Schumacher Qualifying: The exact opposite order of whatever is to be expected.
Ferrari isn't so good out of the hole. Mclaren will probably dominate the race. Merc really have just one area they need be concerned about, and that's the final corner there which really puts a beat down on the rears. If they have that down they will be quick, if not ten they are hosed.
I see no reason to expect much change from Spa. Both fast circuits, no significant changes to the cars. I'd like to see FA win, but I'm predicting Button, and I'd be OK with that. Hami's personality quirks kind of feed off of themselves....The team will be more aligned with JB this weekend which will probably send Hami into a monumental pout. OTOH, some guys raise their game in those situations, so maybe he will, too.
I LOL everytime I read these predictions on MS. I predict a JB win, with hopefully one of the Saubers on podium, preferably Checo.
monza is a different track than spa, they've slowed it a lot since senna ...mclaren will of course be putting that same wing on hamiltons car, redbull and lotus 'should' be up front there, but not mentioned is how well the saubers did (even though grosjean took 'em out first corner), i'm disappointed we didn't get to see them run in the race! ...but is italy so i want to see a Ferrari up front Q hamilton button vettel or alonso R alonso hamilton vettel or button
Very tough to predict this one. The Mercedes engines are performing well here, and with the speed of the Mclaren atm it's going to be a tough package to defeat. I'm hoping for a Kimi or MSC win, of course. Hamilton traditionally hasn't done as well as his teammates here, so of the two Mclarens, Button will take this. qual: 1 BUT 2 MSC 3 HAM 4 KIM 5 VET 6 ALO Race: 1 BUT 2 KIM 3 MSC 4 VET 5 HAM 6 ALO
