HI Joe - are you able to confirm this for sure?

By the way - the red UK RHD QV from the Performance Car article and the Miura SV vs Countach QV article registered C323BYV is a red car with a blue interior. Surely this is unusual - isn't white, cream, black or tan interior more common on QV Countachs? Also for the Miura SV vs Countach article, the SV was owned by Barry Robinson and the Countach QV had 4000m on it and was owned by Campbell Maclaren - I've just bought the article on ebay and it says so.

I'm not able to confirm it yet.

Yes, dark blue was unusual. For example, Vic Sawyer's QV DD UK-registered VFS 141 was red with a dark blue interior. Might even be one-and-the-same.

The conversion that black DD should of gone further and aside from the upper intake, carbs and the rear bonnet getting installed, the owner should of thought about getting both of the rear US bumpers off. There is the rear pad and the large rubber bumperets that were left alone.

Looking in my archives to see how the cars generally left the factory, I found this image of half-a-dozen new QV DDs at the Sant Agata factory awaiting delivery.

    4 red, 1 black, 1 white.

Now that I think about it, VFS 141 was previously registered with a BYV prefix when owned by one Stephen Foster (?) in Gerrards Cross, prior to Vic Sawyers ownership. So perhaps they are one-and-the-same.

By the way Robert, circa 1985/86 you could rent this RHD white/white Countach UK-registered B 743 WTW. I'm not sure if it was an LP400S S3 (I see a square flag mirror) or a later car.

Another thing I came across in my 1985- 1986 files...

I did a little more digging: I believe C 323 BYV did indeed become VFS 141 and is now C 416 NGH.

Barry Robinson's speeding ticket (106 mph) tells us a number of things: Since he had the first, or one of the first DD QVs, we know that they were coming off the line by the beginning of March 1985. We know too that his car left the factory on export plates EE.005.AK

a B registration would indicate the car was first registered between 1 August 1984 – 31 July 1985

an earlier car could get a later reg if it was unregistered anywhere, but a used car coming from another country would get a registration plate based on its date of manufacture.

so probably a 5000S but just possibly a very early Qv

Very interesting to see that this "random" picture shows 6 cars in the most common colors. however none of them wears the wing. I wonder if a lot of cars that we see today were transformed after delivery?

I can confirm what Joe has said

Vic's car, formerly on VFS141, in red with blue leather is now owned by Paul Dennis and has been for e number of years and now on C416 NGH

Nope, I can tell you for sure that the interior was dark blue, because I saw it myself when he owned it! Many times :) In fact I knew it when Steve Foster owned it before Vic.
