If I were shopping for a 400/412, this would have to be the one that I would buy. Wow!! I can't recall ever having come across a one-owner car besides Gregg
garrison's 400i. Pease correct me if I'm mistaken, but most of our cars seem to have had a circuitous journey into the hands of their present owners. Jq.

Being able to trace the ownership of the car back to its importation and with service history is most certainly worth a premium.

Does anyone have a serial number for this car?

This car is beautiful indeed. Is it a real one-owner (has it be imported in the US by its original owner?)

Also what is the real mileage (the odometer might have been changed from km to miles when imported?)

I tried to buy this car three years ago- Craig Brody in Florida had it and wanted $55,000 for it. It went to auction in Ft Lauderdale and sold for $35K-ish. Car is nice lo0king but has had some repairs as noted by the 400-era clear/yellow indicator lenses.

Do keep in mind this is a car with practically NO driving for 5-6 years. It's gone from dealer to dealer looking for a big payday. I would imagine a round of somewhat expensive updating would be required. When I saw it the car had a bit of a stumble on accelerating- fuel distributors I am guessing.

I'd call that "One Owner with asterisk."

Black over Crema is really stunning.

As I have learned from experience... an undriven 412 is a needy beast. This black car was on ebay for 4 months or so in early 2912 and the seller was hard and fast at $37K, don't know if it's the same seller but this car may have been sitting for quite a while as well.

I think a clean 412 with recent COMPLETE service which would include cleaning injectors, setting mixture, all fluids etc. is one of the last great Ferrari bargains for under $40K.

    Good point Jay

low mileage is overated in the buyers decision criteria because theres a lot of issues with cars lying around.

Time is the enemy and 400s all of them bar none will have corrosion, degredation issues. Good news is that everything can be dealt with and these cars will be around for the next 100 years (with a bit of tlc!!)
    regards
    Alastair

Absolutely... these are really robust cars but unless you have the time and aptitude to deal with them some of these cars that have sat in "High LIne" dealers inventory for years are going to need thousands of dollars worth of fettling to be reliable drivers.
