I hope he gets the maximum penalty allowed. Yet another spoiled brat acting like they're above the law. RIP the policeman :(

We shall see how justice works in this case, there'll be complications due to darkness etc but kudos to the police that seized the vehicle from his home for a start.

I read the family is worth $5.4 billion.

Sadly I suspect the compensation to the deceased LEO's family will be less than the price of a swiss speeding fine.

the case has actually become very high profile ...

i'll be surprised if it can be made to just "go away" with a slap on the wrist ... even in Thailand ...

but it will serve as a precedent for future accidents ...

personally i think he shld be put away for 10-15 years like a common criminal ...

Very few people are unaffected by accidently killing somebody. I suspect a lifetime of guilt, perhaps buried a few layers, but it will be there.

The police officer that kept the case alive should be on a fast-track to Chief of Police.

Interesting you say that. I had a boss from Indonesia and she freely and in very emotionless terms talked about how she accidentally killed a fried rice cook on a street in Asia while driving and for all intents it was no big deal. Her "benefactor"(her term) who financed her life simply it seems took care of it.
