Hamilton is DONE at Mclaren

I thought Alonso ratting them out was the stupidest thing a driver has done, personally...LOL at the "I like the guy, but..." comment.

 

I doubt anyone here hates Lewis, I know I do not, it just seem's some of the choices he has made are not the best. He is imho a fantastic driver with great promise but into his 6th year of F1 one would think he would start making better choices and decisions but that does not seem to be the case here.

In all honesty I do not think McLaren will let him go but 99.99.99% of us here have seen what was thought to be impossible actually happen. I am uncertain about Kimi's contract but he would be at the top of my list of drivers who would/could replace Lewis if push comes to shove.

I'm looking forward to what Bob, David and Steve have to say about this in the 'Monza Debrief'.

I can see McLaren and Hamilton parting ways actually, especially if MS decides to hang it up. I know some of us have been on teams where the "fit" was not right. I think McLaren probaby feels that Lewis takes every little issue as a sign of disrespect and Lewis feels disrespected with every mounting issue. How do you repair that lack of trust?

I think he's like Alonso was in 2006...

 

I actually do like him and have complimented him here more than once. No driver is bigger than the spectacle itself.

I think Lewis has been the one with the trust issues since day one and they are unfounded, hell why would McLaren support him in karting and not in F1? The thing is Lewis always seem's to take the "They are screwing me or showing preference to my teammate" attitude which is unfounded. We have all seen how a car can dominate both qualifying and the race at one track and then fall off the fence at the very next track. Every race is a hit or miss with all the variables thrown in.

 

Sometimes you just can't fix stupid. Could a new manager fix Charlie Sheen? Linday Lohan?

Didn't think so - only Lewis can fix Lewis.

A perfect example would be the video of him giving the middle finger to a photog leaving a club, childish and immature.

 

He excels at being his own worst enemy.

 

Simply put, he was tweeting his lack of speed in Q to his masses, <(the average Joe blows) anyone with the slightest bit of knowledge about F1 would know the reason anyway.

The thing is we never saw how well or not his wing would work over race distance, same applied to Alonso also I think.

 

I am still quite unclear why he was carrying that broken piece of wing back to the pits with him after the crash.

Could someone explain this to us clearly, again?

 

Don't worry I have read it all before, nothing abusive in my post, just an observation, as in lack of substance in your posts, but anyway you can rest assured I have postmarked your precious thread for future revisits, just hope you hang around long enough..

 

Now the news coming out is that Lewis IS going to Mercedes.

I think McLaren have acted suspiciously with him since the China debacle his rookie season. There have been too many head-scratching moments with Lewis, not even considering the pure concentration of them in 11 races this season.

I agree with his attitude, and think there was more than enough smoke to signal that fire. Horrible pit stops, bad tire strategy, penalties for mistaken proclamations (remember he was sent to the back of the grid after qualifying on pole because McLaren "mistakenly" said he didn't have enough fuel to return to the pits?), and concluding that his car was faster at Spa despite tech reports that indicated otherwise is a helluva lot of smoke.

Regardless, Mercedes gets to pair a top driver with his prime in front of him with Ross Brawn. McLaren is left, once again, holding the bag. They have run off too many good drivers of late (Raikkonen, Montoya, Alonso, Hamilton). Maybe they can get Hekki Kovalainen back...he beat Schumacher in Race of Champions event a few years back, after all.

 

I'm willing to bet that you're incorrect about his career being in the toilet and never winning a world championship again. If he's linked to Mercedes, Haug and Brawn, I'm betting that team becomes a much more serious threat next year.

I think my sentiment was more accurate in that the trust between McLaren and Hamilton is gone. They think he overreacts to any little issue and takes it personally, while he believes every little issue is a sign of disrespect. You can't fix that...

You already know how that conversation went. Something along the lines of "this is what happens when you give me a piece of crap to qualify in..."

Though I'm certain the language was much more colorful...

 

That seems like a bit of a stretch to me.

Will Louise (Hobbs) start his Rap career sooner than expected? I heard his producer will be JV.

 

I'm suggesting he feels that way based on the preponderance of evidence to support it. I can't possibly see why McLaren would do it, but from a driver's perception standpoint (and when linked to Hamilton's behavior) I'm pretty certain this is what he feels.

 

I agree that there's little doubt that've believes that he's been given worse treatment than he deserves.
The question is how much, if any, basis is there for his feeling that way?

 

That's the difficult thing about the relationship. If McLaren is not sabotaging him (and I have no reason to believe they are), why should they act apologetically to him and walk on eggshells? On the other hand, every time something else goes wrong in terms of race strategy, pit stops, loose wheel nuts, etc, Hamilton is going to feel that the team is trying to hamper his efforts in order to set Jensen up for success.

You can't fix that, in my opinion. If a person "feels" they are unwanted, all actions will be seen through that filter. It's best for both parties if he just moves on.

What sucks is that if Mercedes can give him a competitive car...

 

Preponderance and proof ie evidence are two different things though.
