None, zero, nada, zilch IMESHO! He's had a few rough races - Happens to all of 'em if they're around long enough. [See, Schumacher, M or even Button, J this season for more in depth examples......] My WAG; The team debated wing choice and decided to cover their bases by using both - Paddy said as much - It's not a vote but a consensus. He was involved in the decision. .... End of qualy "his people" ask why Jenny blew his doors off - He gets the data sheet to find out and explains to a bunch of PR folk what it shows - These people of course have no idea what they're looking at (the Spice Girls and Beckham hardly generate much telemetry ) and suggest he tweets it as an "explanation" to his adoring & rabid fan base...... Unfortunately, he didn't think, took their "advice" and here we are. Cheers, Ian
Prima Donnas are often coddled. If It enhances their performance great. If it only increases their sense of entitlement then its not a winning strategy. The great often have such strong egos that they take everything personally. A liability called paranoia among the masses but can be an enhancement among the gifted.
Kraftwerk you have been so quiet since the Hamilton-Mercedes news broke. Are you busy writing an apology to me?
You're saying this like it's a done deal. I beg to differ. It's one report from someone well known to full of bull**** at the best of times - He garners readers for the BBC. As I said above, Woodward & Bernstein he certainly is not. Cheers, Ian
Ian I realize that it is just a rumor and sometimes these things do NOT come true however my whole premise for starting this thread is that I saw his behaivor as something someone would do when they are losing there job. Its all about sabotage as you walk out the door. I have been around racing a LONG time
I think the difference here is that you think McLaren is sacking him. I think Hamilton is considering leaving them...his behavior fits someone who thinks he's being undermined and disrespected. People at that level don't 'lose their jobs'...they leave their jobs.
Fair enough. I beg to differ. I postulated above as to what I think happened - He wasn't thinking and his (ill?)advisors told him to post it as an explanation of why he was so slow - No "sabotage" here. (IMHO) It was an isolated telemetry sheet that has the geeks (me included!) arguing over exactly what it's telling us - And the answer is actually very, very little. FWIW, I believe the (anonymous of course!) "gold dust" comment was one of 'em winding up the press..... Cheers, Ian
Absolutely! Nothing new there - Ron's on record a few months back saying (something like) "Lewis has to remember he works for us" - I think "his people" are just now starting to understand that. Cheers, Ian
Hahaha The others on here have kindly answered your question, sorry to see your precious thread has been up surged by another.. EJ I take with a pinch of salt, read my other post in the other thread. And don't try and twist it you more or less have stated Hamilton is toast. Pity you didn't add Merc would take him, then I might have give you a little credit..
Yes. And McLaren doesn't have the upper hand (answering artnnyc's point). They can't pay LH his current salary and losing him would leave them in dire straights. Despite what artnnyc believes, not just anyone can come in and win a title in Lewis' place. Paul Di Resta may be another Felipe Massa for all we know...shines on a lesser team but struggles with a leading car. Regardless, even Button hasn't had a great season in the car, absent two races, and I don't see Di Resta becoming the #1 driver. Lewis has more leverage here, especially if Schumacher retires. That's a tier-2 team with a #1 driver position available. No way he can go to Ferrari or Red Bull though (RBR's not even an option now)
I hope that I didn't give the impression that I think Lewis untalented or easily replaced because I don't. He has both talent and baggage. Some races one prevails, some races the other. In the end it will be in everyone's interest for Lewis to lose the demons. I really don't see Macca giving up on him, but he may think the grass greener elsewhere.
Now Now Kraftwerk I am not a mindreader about him going to Merc and of course its still just speculation. As I stated I just observed his behavior as being a form of sabotage and felt that something was wrong with him posting that data. I never meant to offend anyone but I do think he has lost his edge
I reckon there's about 20 drivers out there right now who'd like to have lost their edge in the same fashion!..... So far this year; 2 wins (only Fred has more) and a solid 5th in the WDC ahead of his teammate. Not bad for someone who's lost their edge IMO. Cheers, Ian
Raikkonen is 14 points AHEAD of hamster in a secondary car after having been away from F1 for 2 years.
BS!!! We see CEO's getting canned on almost a daily basis in the corporate world and LH is no CEO, he is mearley an employee with a buyout option. If Hambone is doing this much crying at a top team just imagine the Twitters if he was canned and relugated to accepting a position with one of the "Blue Flag" teams?
A "secondary car!?" You're joking, right? General consensus is it's as quick as anything out there on it's day. It's only a matter of time before they get a win or two. I could certainly make an argument that's it's ahead of at least Ferrari & Maccy-L right now. Cheers, Ian
I do so like your certainty about such things, I will give you your kudo's if your right, however if your wrong..... I do hope you like crow claws n all .
