Anyone here have information about how Porsche may go about marketing this car? My salesman at a local Porsche dealership has asked me if I would be interested in the car and I said yes. He said he would be in touch.

I wonder if one could apply for some sort of government rebates or subsidies for the car since it is a Hybrid!

I was told dealers have to apply to sell this car. It's not a given just because you are a porsche dealer. They need 2 customers with deposits to be considered.

You may be right on the 2 customer minimum.

My dealer said he has 2 customers who ordered them.....$250k down 2 years ago (with no guarantee it will actually be built)....another $250k recently when car was announced it will actually be built...which "locks in" their build.

If I could afford one of those cars, I could also afford to pay an attorney to make a petition to the state of CA for a hybrid rebate on my 918 :D

putting you name down and placing a deposit allowed you to purchase the limited edition 911 Turbo - haven't seen too many of those . I'm not sure CGT owners will move to 918's in a hurry - but I've been proven wrong before.
