http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/581573-son-of-red-bull-executive-arrested-for-alleged-fatal-hit-and-run-against-police/ Tragic accident for the son of Red Bull founder if anyone hasn't heard the news yet.
I hope he gets the maximum penalty allowed. Yet another spoiled brat acting like they're above the law. RIP the policeman
I know this kid too. I cant believe he was that dumb... even in Thailand... to hit and run. It's all over the news. CNN and Fox have it on tv! http://www.foxnews.com/world/2012/09/03/red-bull-heir-arrested-in-deadly-thai-hit-and-run/
Did a post just vanish? It linked to this news item... http://www.nationmultimedia.com/breakingnews/Crime-inspector-of-Thonglor-police-station-seconde-30189618.html

agreed mate ... 101% ... they shld lock up his candy ass & throw the ket away ... make an example ...
We shall see how justice works in this case, there'll be complications due to darkness etc but kudos to the police that seized the vehicle from his home for a start.
I read the family is worth $5.4 billion. Sadly I suspect the compensation to the deceased LEO's family will be less than the price of a swiss speeding fine.
http://www.nationmultimedia.com/national/Ferrari-that-killed-cop-was-doing-200kph-30189858.html Even if they are off a bit on speed - that's a busy area with vendors etc. out early in the morning - so crazy way to drive. Looking at the guy in this and other pictures - there's nobody home and I guess he's going through the motions until mummy and daddy make it go away and then he can go back to happy land.
the case has actually become very high profile ... i'll be surprised if it can be made to just "go away" with a slap on the wrist ... even in Thailand ... but it will serve as a precedent for future accidents ... personally i think he shld be put away for 10-15 years like a common criminal ...
Very few people are unaffected by accidently killing somebody. I suspect a lifetime of guilt, perhaps buried a few layers, but it will be there. The police officer that kept the case alive should be on a fast-track to Chief of Police.
Interesting you say that. I had a boss from Indonesia and she freely and in very emotionless terms talked about how she accidentally killed a fried rice cook on a street in Asia while driving and for all intents it was no big deal. Her "benefactor"(her term) who financed her life simply it seems took care of it.
