EC married a girl from Ohio not far from me. He kept a home off Olentangy River Rd. in Columbus. I saw him in 2000-2001, at a high end shopping area called Easton driving a red 550 Maranello. With his wife, hat pulled down over his head. This pic is from this month's F-Chat photo contest. He parked about where the cop car is, and came into the Ocean Club where my wife and I were having drinks. Hardly anyone knew who he was. I knew it was him for sure because of the F-Car. Haven't heard of him being around for a while. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I don't know. The Ferrari dealer was just down the road from his house. I was there about 6 months ago and a salesman said he hadn't heard of him being around. Back when he was here the local rock radio station always had Clapton sightings that people would call in.
He also owned a Black RHD 512BBi thats caused quiet a stir when it was put up for sale.... ....even had The Sun Newspaper down doing an article on it (that caused no end of Grief!)....
It's up for auction: http://www.silverstoneauctions.com/2003--03-ferrari-575m-maranello-f1 Gr. Martin
It was very nice reading through this thread again. Does anyone know what Ferraris EC owns now? Jack.
His 575M is for sale on Pistonheads.com.uk Yellow not nearly as nice as on a Daytona. His 575 doesn't have Daytona seats or Fiorano HP!!
... and now lives in Germany, about 10 km from my place. Found a nice new home with some 'siblings' such as F40, F50, ....
I believe the SWB may have been sold to Australia, but not sure about that. Jack[/QUOTE] Now owned by Ross Brawn. CEO Mercedes F1 team
Well his most exotic Ferrari is his new 458 Speciale (SP12 EC) which is supposed to resemble a 512 BB...
I saw this car in the Classiche workshops in 2009. I didn't know whose it was until my guide (who shall be nameless) let slip....
Hi I sold RU15 to Eric Clapton in 2001, the car had only covered 13,200 miles and was 1 of 4 RHD road cars with an aluminium body. It has to be one of the best documented cars , with an incrediblely detailed history. The car was finished in a dark red at the time as in the attached picture. After meeting Eric i have to say what a really nice guy he is. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks for the information and welcome to the site. On the www.barchetta.cc site it gives the information that RU 15 s/n 3067GT is a steel bodied car with aluminium doors. Link here: http://www.barchetta.cc/english/all.ferraris/Detail/3067GT.250GT.htm I see from this thread that he also owned or owns 2335GT. Info here:http://www.talacrest.com/Ferrari-Sales/Ferrari-250-SWB/4240.htm Barchetta.cc info on 2335GT here: http://www.barchetta.cc/english/all.ferraris/Detail/2335GT.250GT.htm Alain de Cadenet can be seen driving 2335GT in his great Ferrari video Victory By Design from 25.20 when it was owned by Sir Anthony Bamford. Link here: http://www.streetfire.net/video/victory-by-design-ferrari_2046956.htm Or perhaps the transfer of the registration number RU 15 (which is still on a 1961 Ferrari of 2953cc from the RAC site) may be confusing things?
